Did you mean on the 'what is to weird' bit? If so, that was deliberate and not an accidental typo. I was going for the 'alien misunderstands language but accidentally hits on universal truth gag', with weird being an action rather than a state. I admit my humour may be unhelpfully obscure.

I'll probably call DK2 Ironside, make him pretty much the movie character ported over to G1 and a distinct character from Ironhide. How many movie cannon add-on kits do we think we'll see? The iGear Ironhide did a good job with those.

Is it obnoxiously pragmatic that I welcome confirmation? At least I can plan rather than be at the mercy of something unannounced. I suppose I'm now hoping that weird might mean utterly alienating.

It's obviously not without it's issues but when everything works it's a very good looking and posable Devastator and the individual robots are decent too so job done I guess.

If Iron Factory decide to do their version I'll be intrested to see how they handle it, at the very least I expect it'll be more user friendly.

Were you able to follow up XTB for replacement shoulder parts/assembly?

I’m still in limbo with Omegalock whom were chasing up for me, the missing Maketoys Downbeat stickers which should have come with the figure and contacting MMC for the leg fix parts for Stellarus Prominon. I’m nearly a year waiting on the stickers and it has been over 6 months now for the leg fix kit. In the main I’m happy with Omegalock but so far my experience with them for after sales and chasing up companies on my behalf has been absolute shite.

If I was you I would deal with XTB direct as well as have Omegalock do some running about for you connected with that shoulder/arm breakage. I’ve now gone direct to MMC to get the leg fix kit.

Well done Brendan! Looks great. I was wondering when you were going to post a photo of Devy. You slaved over forming up the MS Constructicons. Well done on persevering and not giving up. I know exactly how you felt when I had to transform XTB Monolith trailer early last year. I nearly walked away from that. I would add this was back at the time when there were no vids available to aid transforming it. Anyway, you got there. I guess Devy will be staying in gestalt mode?

 

With all this talk of Black Ironhide and Diaclones, my deskbot of the day is quite topical !

 

I've emailed Omegalock with pics but, yeah, if I can find a contact for XTB I'll get onto them too.

Getting the stickers for Downbeat via ShowZ took months but they did turn up in the end. Still waiting on a tiny missing vent piece from MMC Eris from PSX, though, that I very much doubt I'll ever get.

 

Never before has fate been tempted so brazingly.

On a separate note, I think I might be the only person not buying black ER ironhide. I’m happy with both Ratchet and ER ironhide plus having both their siege versions as well as the quint Siege guard hides.

I do like that black ER ironhide though.
