You're going to get mixed opinions on the shoulder thing.

I, and many others, are of the personal opinion that the movable pauldrons looked dumb. Moving the shoulders at all just unbalances the pose. Raising the arms up just looks completely stupid, IMO, with this giant block of truck hanging out under the armpit.

And that's how pauldrons work in real life. They're anchored to the chest. Think football pads.

Extra armour frequently inhibits mobility. Joints are weak-points.

    Kay, I’ll bite.

On a Bayverse figure, yes, flames work, on a Generations figure homaging an older figure, not so much. It creates a cognitive dissonance, it becomes neither one or the other.

If they were to do flames it would be better if they fully leaned into an 07 deco. make the chest blue and red with flames in gold with blue lining on there as well. Throw it on an SG Magnus even and it would look better than forcing flames onto Laser Optimus

Prime looks like he does all trap exercises and skips curls.

I know everyone is hyped for the upcoming Velocitron subline Black Convoy/Scourge redeco and the possibility of Toxiton in the future, but I just want to this mold retooled into a Clench w/artillery cannon.

Wait, really? So how does ER Optimus not have hollow lower legs when Laser Optimus does?

Optimus really should not have skipped arm day.

The lower legs on this guy are just weird now. I never like saying so, but it is almost "lazy", in this regard. The waist and thighs and foot design (but perhaps not the actual physical molding, on that last count) are shared with the previous toy, but it kinda seems like just to make sure the old parts were compatible with the new, or maybe some misguided attempt at visual continuity, they decided to base the new molding on a simplification of the older tooling, which is just odd. That vestigial trailer hitch on his left boot seems even more odd, now.

I said this on YouTube, but, I know it's based on G2 Optimus, of which I was no fan. It's a nice sculpt/design, but it would be best suited, imo, on another character. Another Prime or some other Cybertronian. Again, I kind of like it, but not for Optimus.

yeah I want a BW 2 Megastorm pretty badly

not interested in G2 prime but Scourge is a definite buy, I think if you just move up those shoulder things you could probably get his arm to move more straight up, so theres some hope, I think ?

Although this is definitely a nice looking release, the pinacle for me is still the RID Scourge. I find it to be the perfect mix of looks and playability - excellent paint deco, nostalgic chrome, nice looking in both modes, fun transformation, decent articulation, nice looking sword, fun light-up gimmick and a battle station mode with three different styles of launching gimmicks.

Definitely going to get the Black Repaint, but also hoping for a regular Red and Blue Prime Repaint

I know is a joke and all but is literally impossible to skip arm day since basically every exercise that is not focused on legs involves the arms somehow.

Yeah, the only character I have holding the Matrix on my shelves is Rodimus Prime, it's just too much hassle to get it to look halfway decent, doesn't seem worth it most of the time.
Maybe in 20 years when some engineer figures out how to do articulated pectorals and rollable shoulders on a retail budget, we'll be able to get the Primes to hold the Matrix in a natural-looking pose

The truck looks good but they really haven't put any effort into trailers in forever.

If Hasbro ever remade the Command Center, it'd have no platforms, no elevator, no stickers, and the head probably wouldn't even turn around.

ER Optimus has back calf parts that cover/fill out the legs. I’ve never taken one apart, but they seem to be pinned together. Laser OP either completely lacks those calf panels, or has new hollow ones for unknown reasons. That’s why I was wondering about future usage with some sort of combining gimmick.
