I did the opposite - NA in gestalt, MS in individual bots. partly because I heard that MS was an absolute PITA to transform.

 

It was the most frustrating thing I've combined in a long time. I liked the thinner/shorter bot modes on the NA, fits more of what I remember of them in the cartoon... plus, that neon green  

 

I totally get that - I also figured "Well, I paid for the Combiner parts 'Set D' from NewAge... better use it!"

 

Dang so how frustrating is this thing to combine and how solid is it in robot mode

I wish we had these good of options for MP scaled Devastators. Both look very nice.

It's a lot of small parts and tabs, so if you have big hands. Well, it's as solid as it can be, as long as you don't squish something apart. He does pose and hold poses nicely, now that I do finally have him together. He also looks amazing. Plus, the way they let you customize him is fucking awesome. Purple knees or bare? Stoic face or yelling? Toy inspired or toon? Mixmaster toe or pegleg? lol... options! The NA one is more waify, which is kind of how he looked in the cartoon sometimes, also NA devy's eyes light up and he has chrome pistons at the frame joints. It's hard not to love them both, tbh.

I'm excited for the slew of NA repaints... clear, orange, yellow, toy deco, gold, mirror universe... *drool*

the extendable ab crunch really helps with getting this guy in dynamic poses. theres also a drop down on the legs so you don’t have to lift up the one piece skirt flap and the sculpt doesn’t get ruined. this guy is tons of fun

 

Rock solid, and not that frustrating. My only issue was with getting Mixmaster into leg mode properly, because Magic Square couldn't be bothered showing it from the side for some reason. Other than that, getting them into combiner mode was a complete breeze, and so was putting them together. It's just a bit slow, because they are complex little buggers (and I started in different modes for some of them).

When I look at this picture I imagine one day when MS or NA make Omega Supreme. Constructicons are small as in your picture with MS Devy but Omega is bigger for one head (or more ) ... it would be my dreams is come true
