I get the feeling that the “weirdness” of next year won’t be from who is released, but rather in terms of influences and style it has the potential to be all over the place.

 

Probably both. HasLab Victory Saber is releasing around the start of next year so it stands to reason other JG1 characters will come out too in a similar style while doing characters in new styles, like how Legacy has the Prime characters in G1 style. I would love to see what BW Primal and Megs look like in Prime or Animated styles.

 

Bonus points if anyone remembers what show this was from. Damn you TBS....

 

What if the weirdness is every character is becoming transmetalized. So even g1 characters are fleshy robots with robotic alt modes. That would be really weird and cool.

Maybe by weird they mean enough paint apps to give vehicle modes painted tail-lights....

Or weird in that we’re really going wacky with inspiration for figures, like a marauder megatron we were gonna get for season 4

 

Something I want them to do is a new mold triplechanger helicopter/jet as a modern update of the Diaclone toy. He would be a Voyager class.

That figure already has been used as a basis for a character (Fumes) too, so there's a precident

 

Give me more Fuzors. Kingdom Rhinox is the perfect basis to retool into Torca. Please Mark, bring the weirdness back.

 

If we get a Torca, nothing less than Commander class will do.

 

As awesome as that would be, I don't expect any non-show characters getting their own molds, especially a commander mold at that. So much of the Kingdom Rhinox mold lines up with Torca's design that it would be an easy Gen Selects figure. Probably wouldn't get his gun but everything else would be perfect.

 

Hasbro Gen Selects don't typically have the level of retooling required to turn Rhinox into Torca, and the Takara Gen Selects line appears to be dead, replaced by Premium Finish, which is also dead.

 

Why wouldn't they get their own molds? Plenty of minor characters get new mold toys all the time.

 

Commander is a big toy for a relative nobody. Torca doesn't have any major fiction to back him up, he's mostly been in the background as cameos just about everywhere if at all.
