This is about as close as you'll get. I give it a 1% chance at best.

 

That's a shame. I like AW, but not quite enough to replace my MP-13. If we got the one in the center of your photo, I'd quickly jump at that to pair with my Nemesis Prime custom

 

I will say, as doubtful as I am, if there is one of their figures they could and probably should do it with is this one. It would give them an extra excuse to sell the G2 tapes along with it.

 

I guess the alien mask with Warpath was kind of a fluke. Pretty interesting that each mask that came out was only with a particular character, and each with a different company:

Sunstreaker (Takara)
Hoist (and Tracks) (X-Transbots)
Powerglide (DX9)
Warpath (Fanstoys)

Those are the primary reasons I want those particular versions of these characters, not to mention they are pretty cartoon accurate as well.

 

Tapes arrived this morning - Acoustic Wave himself is due in the next hour.

Initial impressions are that I hate Frenzy's shoulders and really need to be careful when transforming his legs, I still wish Ravage had outwards movement on his front legs, and that I LOVE Laserbeak.

IIRC, someone else had the same issue as in my photo, with Laserbeak's jet unit thingies not sitting straight, so can someone tell me the best way to fix 'em?

 

I think all Laserbeaks have the missiles pointed inwards, though at various degrees. Mine wasn't so bad, I just kinda flexed them to straighten them a bit.

You can wedge something between it for a couple of days. Someone used the neck to straighten them, and some heat from a vent that got it to set in place.

Those inner white knee panels flip in to finish the look. Not a big difference but its somethin.

He’s super mistransformed out of the box.

Ass flap needs to be fixed, backpack needs to be fixed, inner waist die-cast panels need to be fixed (flipped down. Secures his waist and no more lean), and those white side knee panels need to be fixed.

Then he should be good to go!

 

I’ve been working from home so didn’t get a chance to do more than a cursory inspection til now. I think I’ve fixed everything now. Haven’t even had a chance to transform him as my evening has been taken up with a broken XTB Perceptor :S

 

I like the lean by leaving the waist bits unsecured. Almost gives him a teapot joint.

I actually kinda wanna tighten that joint up and just leave the little die cast peg things folded away. More articulation is always a good thing.

 

The Dr Wu Soundwave fits in pretty well with my "mass shifter" alt modes.

 

I've locked those metal tabs a few times but prefer them up so he has that side to side range. Hes tight enough to hold a straight pose with them untabbed

I had no idea he was that small, now I'll be lookin for one!

 

As incredible as this guy is I REALLY need a Buzzsaw. It just isn't right without him.
