Just watched the review and this looks like the update I was looking for of my favorite Optimus design. The RTS update had too much Bayverse influence for my taste and was way too small for Optimus. The Titans Return version suffered from pretool syndrome as that mold was obviously made with Octane in mind. This new Legacy version hits all the nostalgia sweet spots for me and I don't mind the changes. Particularly the shoulder pylons not articulating with the rest of the arm doesn't bother me as I always thought tgat looked akward on the original toy when his arms were fully forward. If I have any complaints it's that they used the paint deco from the original 1995 release instead of the 2006 Reissue (though it looks lile they were originally going to based on the early render photos), the wheels om the legs not being as bulky as the original, and the size of the weapons (though I've still got the TRU TR sword so I'm good there). Minor nitpicks though. This has made me a very happy fan of the Laser Optimus Prime design.

Hey man, can you show how it looks the tank turret used as hand-weilded blaster, please?

I remember it can be attached but you didn't showed it.

I love they\'re STILL using the legs to reference he\'s the same guy post upgrades.  Obvious convenience in toy engineering aside, it keeps me rooted in feeling like these are eras with the same characters.

Looks like a fun mold but I'll wait for either a discount, repaint or both to own the mold.

A Scourge repaint of this is inevitable, right? Do I need to hunt down that UW Baldigus repaint?

Well they’ll definitely do a Black Convoy/Scourge repaint. But I’m hoping for Toxitron.

The scale of the trailer always seems off. It feels like it should be almost 1.5x bigger, but probably closer in scale than ER Prime's trailer was.

My thoughts exactly! I was excited for the base mode potential but now ... eh. The Airlock system works so well, I am truly surprised it was eliminated.

I do wish they would stop putting the ugly flame deco on Laser Optimus, it ruined the United version and it does Work here. Give me the original paint fade like they did on the TR Velocitron set anyday

    Flame good.

Looks a little plain but I love G2 Prime and the flames are a plus.

I've been wavering on this one for a while, toying with the idea of cancelling my pre-order. Honestly, after looking at these images ..... I'm still on the fence.

He does look good. Looks like a pretty fun figure overall. I wish he came with a gun, and those energy weapons just look cheap. If I do get him, they'll be tossed in a box or bag and never used. Other than that, I like him, it's just that I kind of don't feel this design grabs me enough to add another Optimus to my collection, as much as I like the character.

I'd be much more interested in a Scourge repaint. I haven't seen RID 2001, but I do think this would look cool in those colors.

Definitely agree with everything else, but I feel like people keep missing what's really going on here. The legs aren't too long--the BODY is too squat. And ER Prime has the exact same problem. It's in their abs. Put some extra height there, and it solves the problem immediately.

But yeah, just not interested. Transformation is interestingly complex, but it all just comes across as mediocre. Definitely don't care for the limited range at the shoulders, besides the fact that it just looks...disjointed? I don't know--just feels off.

And as always, the leader character is just too short (and a slight bit shorter than ER Prime even). Every one of them really should be redone at Galvatron's height some time in the future, but I don't ever expect that. I'd ditch trailers all day to get better-sized (modern)leader-class LEADERS.

I wasn't planning on getting this one, it didn't convince me from the stock images, but oh boy, seeing the in hand review, he looks awesome, I'm totally getting this one and the inevitable Scourge repaint, you win Hasbro, take my money

Looks good for the most part, never loved this look for prime so I'm not gonna complain about this figure as someone who loves this design. Do love how they have the RTS flames on the front (being someone who grew up with Optimus having flames on him).
But I'll wait for the superior version...

    Hopefully I can get him
He's gonna be in the Walmart Velocitron line actually.
