My brother and I joined the thousands of people in the UK who dropped the comic after #300, because the 5p price increases were just too much. Instead I spent as much as £35 on single issues to complete the set as an adult.

Anybody want Earthrise Ironhide for £25 delivered, or Runamuck for £13? Both have their accessories and instructions.

If you want both I'll knock £3 off
    :)

I dropped it when the only new material went to black and white and the rest was reprints and filler. Never read the end of it.

Smyths have reduced loads of stuff, but doesnt currently show unless you click into the actual item. eg Spolier Mag £25, Beast Meg £30, Wreck Gar £25, Blur £12, vintage BW £22. Even got Soundwave £30 and Jetfire £50! not that youll find them anywhere. Although presumably their system thinks there's at least 1 out there, otherwise they just wouldnt be listed any more?

I'm afraid not. The closest you can get is G2 Ransack, which... well.

Well, technically they still have time...

Huh. These genuinely don't look all that bad. There'll be cost cutting in there for sure, and you can see how empty Arcee's lower legs are, but this is one of the least shellformer-y designs yet. And Wheeljack even has ankle tilts.

My first thought was "this is what she looks like if she's not a shellformer".

WJ looks surprisingly good for one of these!

They often do this, and the items are rarely in stock when they're reduced. A few are this time, but normally it's stuff that's been out of stock for months.

Fucking typical. Ah well, I've bought 'em from TFS now whilst paying for XTB Percy and asked Kapow to cancel with them. I do wish businesses wouldn't only use FB for updates - for a start, that's pretty much what Twitter is for!

"Hello, I'd like to buy THIS TRANSFORMER please!"
"I'm sorry, THIS TRANSFORMER is only on the shelf in our small off-shore store on a tiny island the Outer Hebrides considers distant."
"Can I get it delivered please?"
"No. We have no stock for delivery."
"But you have deliveries to your stores all the time."
"Oh yes, every week, sometimes more, a massive lorry load of Barbies and Funko Pops moves around the Countryside, filling shelves with tat no-one wants."
"So can you put THIS TRANSFORMER on the lorry and send it to the depot for delivery?"
    "Impossible."
"Can you get it delivered to this store?"
    "Impossible."
"So it's just going to sit on that shelf in the middle of nowhere, at half-price but unsold."
    "Probably yes."
"How you doing financially by the way?"

Edit: "GOOD NEWS: The HUGELY popular Netflix Soundwave is now £30!"
"Brilliant! That's like 1/3 the eBay price! Can I have one please?"
    "NO! We don't have any!"
    "Will you get some in?"
    "Who knows?! But he's cheap!"
    "He's ENTIRELY theoretical!"
    "Theoretical AND cheap!"

Is advertising sale items at a price that they've never actually been available to buy at even legal?

I would like if if companies used those focused mailing lists that they've spent two decades building up, but I imagine GDPR has made some of them a bit gunshy. I used to get marketing emails from Kapow but they just throw everything on FB now.

Good question. I always assumed it was dodgy to put the price UP right before a sale. I think the supermarkets do that. They might spend Mon-Fri at £5 more so when they knock £10 off at the weekend it looks better, but in fact it's only £5 discount...
Showing amazing sales prices for things you're not actually selling just seems idiotic, rather than actually illegal.

Ah I know the answer to this one !

I was in there last week and there was a sign up saying that all stores were undertaking an annual stock check last Thursday night so they'd be closing early.

Manager said that if they 'find' anything, it'll typically be at a reduced cost, so these will be for the stores that did.

HMV used to be swines for doing that - new CD would be £9.99 for the first few days of release, then go up to £12.99, suddenly leap up to £14.99 briefly, then be £10.99 in the 'sale'.
