I've always wanted to design a little transforming figure so I tried my hand at designing a simple little Sky Lynx even put it on thingiverse if anyone's interested www.thingiverse.com/thing:5212670 I'd love to get some feedback on this
This is cool as hell. Love it. This is the kind of stuff I’d be doing with a 3D printer. Just tinkering around making fun little stuff like this.
I don't really know just kinda worked on it off and on over the last few months every now and then it is though to be fair Sky Lynx isn't that challenging a transformer to make ^^"
If you do decide to print this Please feel free to ask if you have any questions Though i would suggest printing him at 100% scale, as he was designed to be compatible with siege blast effects
Looks great, only thing I would change is to add extra blue panels that swing out and back from under the existing blue wing panels to form bigger, more bird-like wings. Maybe thin out the blue parts to make room for them so the shuttle wings aren't so thick afterward. Also, could you take a picture of the tail assembly? There's a lot of little parts going on, not sure how they are supposed to go together. Looks like there are extra parts.
I was playing around with the idea of adding another segment to the wings for a while but in th eend decided against it because I thought the stubby g1 style wings look a bit "cuter" ^^" though I have been playing around with some ideas on how to incorporate the extra flaps. and will probably add some updates when I get the time. as for the tail assembly I added a lot more clips than strictly needed, since they're such a small piece and I kept dropping them. the assembly can be seen in the pictures below. the S and E shaped clips are pretty much interchangeable and one may work better than the other depending on your printer/ settings
