And Lockdown and Drift too while we're at it:

And looking at that more detailed version of Cyberverse Jetfire, I'm seeing some definitely similarities to Armada Starscream beyond what Jetfire's typical designs already tend to have, with the placement of the boosters and the orientation of the air intakes on his chest... come on Hasbro, you know you want to do it...

Interesting tidbit about them stylizing alt modes in the comic to look Cybertronian. Maybe we can get some pictures up and see Minerva and Burnout/Hauler relatively close to each other, that way we can see if that's what they're going with?

I'd be down for that Barricade in a heartbeat!

Also from what I can recall the new Elita bot mode silhouette seems to match that IDW Minerva.

I never got to see the minerva use of the mold though so not sure how much of a reshell the alt got unfortunately.

I'd take both these (though show wise I don't like how they did Drift or even Lockdown). Honestly, I'd buy a lot of Cyberverse designs especially these one's

NICE, that kind of what I was hoping for.

Well I do hope the alternate mode is something which can pass as an Earthmode, probably a sports car with emergency service/first aid/rescue deco.

Well Minerva, if the comics are super accurate, doesn't look to have gotten a whole lot of remolding. The torso shares a LOT of details with the g1 elita model, with that upside-down T at teh bottom of her chest, that weird Y shape on the midriff, the button belt and.. downward slopes(?) on the front of the skirt. Limbs are different but they're a dfferent shape entirely so not sure if that plays any part in the character conversion

I'm having trouble finding the image I remember of Burnout where I swear there was a raised squared off fender detail. The only one I could find was this one, where it looks more accurate to the toy, but the image I remember seeing was a higher-angle shot from the front where Burnout was in the background:
Hauler's not as stylized as I remembered either, still definitely a bit different but I don't know if that's from intentionally trying to make him look less Earth-like or just due to the art style in general:
But there's also Road Rocket, who's definitely got some different parts from Legacy Arcee, and while it's quite possible that that's how the toy is designed, the new, angular fairing and windshield would actually be less accurate to the original G2 toy than the parts Arcee already has, so who knows whether that's accurate to the new toy or intentional stylization by the artist:

Were we remembering correctly that Elita's car mode looks closer to the cartoon model than an Earth car?

To me they look the same from the comic to what we have seen of Skids and Grapple. That glimpse of her car mode is probably super accurate, then. It would be nice if this meant Burnout had painted tail lights.

Yeah, unfortunately that's possible, unless the artist just hadn't seen the alt mode design yet. I hope that's the case, because it's pretty bland and doesn't look like either a Porsche or Elita-1's cartoon alt mode. Same with Knockout, I like his robot mode but I've been hoping his alt mode isn't very accurate. It's not nearly curvy or flashy enough.

i analyzed sunbow girls designs at some point and imo, based on their alt modes, firestar could be a good retool of kup, moonracer - of wheeljack, and lancer - of hot rod. greenlight can keep the moonracer mold, but would be better if the backpack flap got distributed to the front of the legs. siege chromia is a pretty much ideal take but needs more car parts integrated into the robot

also, do u think there's a chance that future arcee toys might be more in line w/ her new authentics design?? she seems to finally become the "default" character to appear everywhere, and between t30 to wfc, there's quite enough options 4 slavishly floro dery's inspired figures at this point

I don't think so. Even though you can easily do a better Arcee design than the OG while still keeping core details, Hasbro takes one look at deviating from G1/BW cartoon designs in the main line and it goes like this:

It's a little subjective, but from what I remember it's about halfway between cartoon and earth car.

Speculation: I feel it's the TF team's attempt at a Floro Dery alt-mode - plus could also potentially be a way of creating an easier base to retool/reshell for Minerva?

eh, i don't think so. to me it seems cartoon accuracy is something they're focusig on At The Moment, because that's what a lot of ppl wanted when more deviating designs were coming out. and i don't see why they wouldn't come back to it eventually

That sounds neat then, that's what I'd been thinking based on what you said earlier. So I guess I should've been more specific, but does that mean this isn't super accurate then, or at least that the rear parts we can't see are more interesting than the front?

    For example this:
    Screenshot 2022-01-23 1.36.30 PM.png
Keeps the core elements while changes the overall design and alt mode.
