Eh… modern Generations seems to go toward the direction of doing more experimental and creative reimaginings of TFs. Of course you still get some faithful releases that adhere to the original designs, but for the most part there’s almost always a gimmick or string attached, like how Siege was all Cybertronian vehicles and had weird silver weathering, or how non-G1 characters in Legacy have altered designs, or the entirety of Prime Wars.

I could see Studio Series filling that void of straightforward releases without any bells or whistles attached since its priority has always been to create accurate characters… at least most of the time stupid crankcase.

It will stay Knightverse for me. I'm so thankful for that fella' for doing a great TF film. Wish he'd return for a few more. Bumblebee was the first TF movie I remember recieving screams (for the Cybertron scenes) and clapping at the end in the local cinema. I was proud.

Exactly. I know people have argued that the cartoon series are technically made by studios, but we all know the term 'Studio Series' is intended to allude to theatrical movies, as that's what the general public mostly associate studios with. Plus the blurb on every single box says 'reach past the big screen'. The 86 movie was included for no other reason than to celebrate the 35th anniversary, plus it's been mentioned that most, if not all, the SS 86 releases were meant to be in Earthrise or Kingdom but COVID messed up the schedule. Whether that's 100% true I'm not sure but it would explain things like Kup not being entirely screen accurate with the BB release fising that.

I mean, it already is Generations, and literally had Generations figures mixed into it. It was never that different.

And all that sounds like is that SS would take over being the slavish accurate updates, potentially leaving mainline Generations to become more experimental and new.

Right now if they were to do accurate TFP characters it's be in SS.

Studio Series stopped being "accurate" for me the moment they thought it was okay to release a Brawl with a tank barrel sticking out of his ass. Given the "high" standard that line was supposed to have, that was an inexcusable gaffe to not even have it be removable given he has he split tank barrel for the robot mode doing this exact thing.

Actually I think several of the SS86 guys were said to be slated for Earthrise, but the designers felt that having 5mm hole sockets would ruin their appearance and so they were moved to Studio Series instead. Cyclonus for whatever reason is specifically the name I recall for this bit of info.

Hey, I only said their goal is to make accurate figures, not that they’ve actually succeeded.

But for every missed mark we at least got BB figures and the RotF Constructicons so I’m happy.

For what it's worth, the upcoming G1 Ironhide/Ratchet voyager mold will be one of the first Studio Series g1 toys that was made entirely for the Studio Series, with no ifs or buts or "was gonna be for WFC but ended up there" backstory, so we will be seeing with them if Hasbro will try to make them screen-accurate or if they will have reimagined detailing and other details like Kup and co.

If I had to guess they'll be like the other SS 86 molds - accurate to the movie but still has some detail on it to not be plain. And yeah they definitely were made for SS since it's a brand new mold (from the latest we have heard) and we already got 2 Ironhide's in WFC.
I still hope with how great the new BBM stuff is we get a new Beetle Bee. I mean they redid Shatter and Dropkick

Usually, Studio Series does a good job capturing accuracy. However, it’s not at all perfect. Studio Series figures tend to have the same level of detail like from WFC.

If you want real pure accurate figures then there’s Masterpiece.

Which personally, I'm happy about cause they'd look out of place next to WFC stuff and just look kind of boring.

That's kind of... silly if you ask me. It's not like the figures were ever going to be 100% accurate to the impossible movie designs.

So I checked his IG page and he was on a podcast and he didn't talk ROTB till the end at like 1hr 43 minutes and it was really nothing but he said
"It has to be a summer release and they were trying to push for it this summer, which would have been a disaster, so luckily but you gotta put it back a whole year at that point".

No that's just a fan film, They're going with TF7 since it's the 7th Transformers film.

I think he meant just with how crowded June is this year since most films delayed in 2020/201 are coming out this year.
