Got the Sideswipe body btw, to fix the broken shoulder. Hope to get an extra engine eventually, but not worried at all (too many molds on the collection anyway)

The stock head is growing on me... But also Sideswipe could work... as a Clampdown stolen body by Barricade of course, just with extra painted details and red eyes

Also, loving the Roadbots Toyota Estima from the end of their line

If I could manage this then you definitely can make something good out of it :thumb

Pre-painting I did some testfitting and some sanding. Haven't tried it after painting

But honestly, I dislike transforming Binaltechs. Actually, I dislike handling BT's in general: even got rid of most BT's that have an Alt version, save Grimlock, Streak and Smokescreen. So I'm likely never going to transform him ever again. Even considered for a moment going a step further and using a Ricochet as base for Prowl, but since I only made Prowl because I had Alert...that would be foolish.

Sounds like you got it covered from the sanding. The painting really makes that head look much better, too.

No, Roadbots was a line by Korean company "Happywell", they made transforming robots with licensed alt modes in diferent scales, 1:32 wich fits nicely with your average Deluxe figures, 1:24 with Alternators, 1:18 wich are too big for anything really on the collection and a hummongous 1:12 models

Hope so, but if not...I'll never find out since I'll never transform him.

I've always loved the Dreamwave Prowl cover art (also used on his TFwiki page) and want a Prowl as close to that as possible. BT seemed the best option.

Yes, imagine my frustration when I discovered I had forgotten to paint it :D

Put the figure together and then looked at the head and I didn't mince words. I freely shared my thoughts and feelings :D  Cleaning the air brush after white paint is a chore, and I had done all the current white painting so had to do this 2-3 times for just the head. But the paint makes it so much better so in the end it was worth it.

Initially I wanted the red to be clear red over silver, but I was lazy and just went with regular red. Yeah, that didn't look good so I put some clear red over the already painted red and love the result.

Similar with the lower arms. The ridges on the side I intended to do with NATO black for contrast, but again, I was lazy and just handbrushed a flatt coat over it. It works, but NATO black would've been better.

For my first Alternators figure, this is quite an "Stunning Auto-mode" befitting of the character.

Alternators Tracks was the toy that got me back into Transformers collecting way back when. Before alternators, all I had in my TF collection was a few vintage toys I rebought (after discovering my mom threw all mine away). Now I have chug, masterpiece, 3P, legends, etc etc.

So, it could be said the Alternators line has cost me tens of thousands of dollars.

Alternators Tracks's robot mode....eh, it's certainly a robot mode that was a product of its time, for sure.

    IMG_5059.jpg

Granted, construction-wise this robot mode does built like a tank, I like the headsculpt and I love the various small gimmicks that this robot mode brings to the table (such as the deployable forearm guns); But outside of that, this robot mode is bit of mess when it comes to kibble management, and the articulation is below average by today's standards.

He still looks good as an display piece and I can't deny that there's certainly a novelty factor of this being a precursor to the later ROTF/DOTM Human Alliance figures that makes this sorta cool.

When he was released I found Tracks to be a big step down compared to earlier and also later Alts. Both in design and articulation.

The upper body is good. The back is definitely a mess with the roof and window, but in general I really like the upper body. The faux canopy, the shoulders, the arms and the headsculpt. All I really like.

But the lower half is a disaster. The doors being attached to the hips was a mistake -- I've seen customs where they were transplanted to the car parts on his lower legs, which really helps -- the back piece behind the pelvis is too visible, the knees are horrible and the car parts at the back of his legs are awkward. I'd really wish they'd give him the same leg transformation as the classics figure: a simple slider and the front bumper forming the ankles.

The corvette mould is to me a low point in the Alt series, simply because of the lower body.

(Tracks is becoming the new Ironhide: never a good toy. And he's such a vain Autobot. Fortunately, it's usually the robotmode that suffers.)

That's because regardless of release order, it was one of the earliest designs that predated all the other released figures.

Got everything out of storage. Sorry for the mediocre lighting since I was impatient to take pics.

Really nice line of figures, I was happy to only have to consult the instructions for Grimlock and Skids. It takes a long time to transform this many.

    Quick thoughts.
Amazing alternate mode details, opening doors, hoods, and trunks. Wheels are linked for steering. Moving steering wheels and seats. All this detail makes transforming a chore, especially the arms on most. Robot modes are very nice but accessories arent the most impressive. Quality control and finish are really good. In store, these were $20 each and many were on discount! Only real disappointment is Prowl.

I've always like the mold, despite its shortcomings, as those here have pointed out.

@Nevermore I'd like to take the opportunity to say "thank you" for all of your hard work with everything you documented during the time with your "Binalternators" website and your work at TFWIKI.NET on mirroring your content there and sequencing the information. Most of all, like so many others during the time the line was initially released, I'm honored to call you my "friend." This line connected me with you and so many others in our fandom community, and I'm grateful for it.

Not quite Binaltech, but i got this KO from the Conversion Metals Cars, wich are the KO BT line. I knew of the existence of a MP Convoy KO, but not a golden variant. Im not sure if its official or a custom, but i got it for cheap, apparently sealed

Paint is too good to be a custom to be honest, and even the battery compartment was painted, cant see why unless it was done at the factory after removing the injection sprues from the molds

Last pic is the normal KO colors

Based on the 20th Anniversary DVD MP Optimus Prime looking at the package shape and shortened smoke stacks. Same Diecast content as the real figure

Every single part is painted gold before assembly (as far i can tell), i had to loosen some screws because some joints were stuck

Lower legs are miassembled, had to fix them. Hydraulics and vents works. Hips seems to be broken, but holds still, left leg came of during handling. Not sure if plastic became brittle or what, is not GPS but who knows

Batteries were starting to leak, I dont see the need to have lights because everything is painted over, matrix and led too... but oh well

Wont be transformed but makes a good display piece. . The Display base is not included, i had it laying around

Overall, great quality, sturdy like the original, wish i knew more about it!
