Yup, they started hitting Target this week. Got me a Ben Reilly and Armored with that sweet red card 5% off lol. Hammerhead was there.....BUUUT i predict he will be on sale and not hard to find. When I started collecting LEgends back in October I told myself " This will be better than TF....Once you get a character you're done." ...Looks over at the Spider-man shelf then glances at the X-men, "....Yeahhhh....done"
Well this is damned annoying. Wal-Mart canceled my preorder for the exclusive comic Doc Strange. Very annoying. At least Wally World exclusives have been easier to get these last couple of yeard at retail. Just going to have to be patient.
I was worried about that. It has happened twice to me where they cancel my order, but then I’m able to just reorder it online when it comes in stock. I don’t know how easy it will be to find. The last Captain America exclusive arrived at my store in a large number, but quickly disappeared, and that was the only time the got it. So it was only around for a week or two tops.
I think one of the heads is the BAF Vampire Jubilee head while the other is from the regular Jubilee release.
Selling Ultron for $15 shipped: Has some paint scratches. Comes as shown (no accessories). Please message me if interested. Thank you.
This is why I prefer fan channel exclusives, much easier to obtain. And it’s a damn shame Strange was exclusive to Walmart as that design has been long overdue for a redo. Last Legends Strange based on the classic look was made over 15 years ago and that thing was already feeling a bit outdated on arrival. Speaking of which, still waiting on a new comic Mandarin without material for the robe that hinders articulation. Been waiting. Hope it won’t be an exclusive if and when Hasbro finally gets to it. Probably wouldn’t pass up a Modular Iron Man with bright yellow and red either to match the comic look. The one we got last year is good but that brighter look is iconic too. Also want the redesigned cartoon one with optional mouthless helmet. We already got figures somewhat technically homaging half the Marvel Action Hour at this point.
That had to be some kind of store mandate/request, i.e. "We (Walmart) need a Doctor Strange exclusive to garner sales for the upcoming movie, what can you give us?" "Target already took the red one...I guess classic?"
If you’re in it for the long run…the way Hasbro has been going lately, some character designs get better redone/newly tooled figures sometimes 5 years later. For example the 2015(?) pizza Spiderman buck has now been surpassed by later bucks like the one used for Sunfire and the later retro card Spider-Man mold from 2020. As good as the retro Spider-Man buck is, there’s still room for improvement(toe joints, deeper diaphragm crunch, cleaner neck hinge socket, more elbow range, switch to above ankle swivel instead of shin swivel which breaks the sculpt) and I wouldn’t be surprised to see a new mold to surpass it for Spider-Man in a few years. It took Hasbro years of growing pains to get a constant track of consistent improvement. By 2014 they started to hit a stride and have gotten much better in the years since. They’ve still yet to surpass Toy Biz when it comes to intricately sculpted details(and in some cases, paint apps) but as far as cleaner sculpts, better proportions and durability, they were finally out of Toy Biz’ shadow years back. What Hasbro Legends are now are a far cry from how they started back in 2007. If you had FOMO all those years you actually lucked out since there are several figures that one may safely say you could’ve passed on with no regrets. 2018 might’ve been a good year to start buying Hasbro Legends.
Yeah, it's a real mixed blessing. I passed on alot of newer Batman Animated stuff because somebody decided cel-shading was the only way.
Supposedly every Target around me has Shocker and Hammerhead instock. Tomorrow I'll see if that is really the case. No Spider-Mans at all though.
my target had 5 all painted poorly, another had two armored spider-man but i’ve never liked that suit. No sign of the only two i wanted lol
Checked my Target today. No Spidey wave, mostly AoA and Eternals. I did get Sue and Reed on clearance though. I probably return the Reed I bought earlier, but I may keep both Sues as I want to do a hair and head swap.
I wanted the Armored Spider-Man, and did buy it as I actually have a bit of soft spot for the short lived suit (lasting only for the one issue it appeared in)...but it's NOT the version from the comic. It's not bulky enough sadly. This is the suit in the comic it appears in... As we can see, the gauntlets are much thicker and go up over his elbows. The feet should be completely covered in armor as well as there are no kneecap pieces unlike on the figure as the armor on his calves goes up over them. The shoulder pieces cover his upper arms more. The helmet should cover his head entirely. And the spider symbol on his back is entirely solid. No lines through it. Toy Biz did the Spider-Armor a few times and was more accurate to the comic...well...the really bare poseable one anyway. Hasbro even did the suit in the Marvel Universe scale line, and that one was actually pretty accurate! From what I understand, the Armored Spider-Man MK 1 we just got in the Retro Spider-Man line here...is how the suit is portrayed in the PS4 Spider-Man video game...which seems to be the case indeed. Anyway...just my thoughts really on the figure and how I hope Hasbro does a PROPER Spider-Armor MK 1 figure from the comics someday, you know. It's one of those things that plays at my childhood...just like when they finally gave us the 90's Modular Iron Man recently...the one that appears in the cartoon and the Capcom video games... I wanted that as a proper figure for years, and when we got it finally...being able to cross that off my checklist of characters/looks I want to see in toy form.
