I could see that happen like what they did with Earthrise Scorponok.

If you want to get even more technical, the toys have the same heads

If we go by toys they're the same minus some color differences, but by media appearances they're pretty different with PM Optimus being a chunky fellow while Super Ginrai is pretty slim (and looks kinda ass imo but that's besides the point)

I still wish TT had done this to counter the purple Megatron from the TR mold. My Archforce needs Sureshot!

Tbh I'm not sure why I forgot about the toy head on PMOP despite knowing it from the comics. Guess I'll blame not having that original toy and my brain defaulting to the Masterforce design since its the one who got animated more.

I totally want a modern remake of this guy just to add him to my collection as Sureshot. Bonus point if we get a Targetmaster Sureshot before/after. Explaining who this guy is and any plausible lore explanations for his name and existence are hilariously steeped in fanwank: "Oh, no he's Sure Shot with a space. Yeah! Oh and he just has the worst case of Primus Apotheosis ever!" Beside, this is admittedly funnier than just displaying him as yet another Optimus Prime. Even if his entire identity is stealing one guy's name and another's appearance. Euro!Sureshot's entire joke is that he's a wannabe if you ask me. A total and absolute loser who ape Optimus Prime and a Targetmaster's name to sound cool.

If you ask me that is way funnier and more interesting than being another form of Optimus Prime. He's the robot version of an Elvis impersonator!

I hope Peacemaker gets a new/good mold if we're getting him alongside Pointblank.

    :lol

No, because you can't make a camera out of 3 of these. Just hurt your hand trying.

It'll be interesting to see how they handle Peacemaker if they budget him in with Pointblank. I'd be concerned with a decrease in quality from the Battle Masters, but they managed to get Eject budgeted as a new mold included with Blaster and Eject is certainly a better mold than Rumble. So hopefully Sureshot and any Minicons or other partners work out just as well moving forward.

I doubt he'd come with Pointblank. I guess it's possible though. No leaks on a separate release, at least not what I've seen. Not sure how Hasbro will do it. But I think it'd be safe to expect Peacemaker.

Blaster didn't seem to suffer from coming with Eject though, yes, but that's at the Voyager price point.

I would be looking into retirement by the time they finished all the teams at the rate of one a year.

If going by G1 toy only, sure. The differences are the new arms on Super Ginrai, the chrome, clear windows, short smokestacks, die-cast and additional paint on the Japanese release.

Media-wise their appearances are quite different, as pointed out by other posters before. TakaraTomy themselves also differentiate between the two in their Masterpiece surveys.

Having said that, for a mainline release, that isn’t slavishly show accurate, such a distinction might not be made. Especially post-brand unification.

Amen, brother! I was kinda hoping to have the collection “completed” within the next year or two and rest on my plastic laurels, but a new updated WFC quality combiner team reissue would completely throw that out the window.

That's kinda the point I'm getting at. Even the Titans Return/Legends leader class figures had the same head (no, not talking about the Titan/Headmaster) and that's with all the changes that Takara made to the tooling.

Well if that Minerva does well, maybe he'll see the light of day yet? An honest God Ginrai/Apex Armor designed with the Bomber unit in mind for once and not haphazardly fitted to existing hollowing and convenient gaps would be amazing. Im a sucker for the more colorful hands of the Ginrai but red eyes pop so hard on the Powermaster one so I'm a little torn there. Best of both worlds maybe?

Been thinking about Lugnut and Powerglide a lot lately. I do so hope they get better figures a future toyline since they're so overdue. I'd prefer Lugnut bring a commander class while Powerglide a large voyager
