It has been reported by various online outlets Phil Spencer will let Activision studios make their own games. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.videogameschronicle.com/news/xboxs-phil-spencer-says-hell-let-activisions-studios-work-on-a-variety-of-franchises/amp/ This is positive news, as most Activision studios tend to be support groups for Call of Duty. If High Moon is freed from Call of Duty’s shackles, is it possible Hasbro and Microsoft can work out a deal to let High Moon take another crack at Transformers?
I don't think so for a few reasons, first they don't have the IP and it is a pain to get, second they lost a lot of their staff after the deadpool fiasco, and finally the game will probably be very different from the originals as a lot of the staff that worked on it is gone so it will most likely suck like a lot of other franchises.
The likelihood of it happening wasn’t very high I’d imagine. And the fact the same talent involved with the games ain’t around also makes them look unappealing. I await the day we get another good TF console game.
There is some rumor that Phil Spencer does want to go and revitalized some of the unused IPs, and seeing how Transformers was one of them, if he could turn around Activison into something actually good and get the IP for it, then it just may be possible. But that all depends on whats happening with the game already in development as I don't know if Hasbro is willing to take a risk on a possible three games at once. Xbox now has plenty of studios to do it, so they could totally use other studios to do it.
Rise, whatever the name supposed to be, Yes the one being developed by Certain Affinity is looking like it got quietly canned and shifted into something new, so take it with a grain of salt. I think they are still recovering from that fiasco so I don't know if they are willing to make a possible third other game. But on the other hand, Xbox has been doing things right and has enough competent people now that they could possibly talk them into doing it. But that's just speculation and until things are confirmed, that's what it shall remain.
I think Hasbro could work out a deal between Microsoft m, to have High Moon or another developer take a crack at Transformers. I think the main obstacle would have to be the fact, a potential Microsoft backed Transformers game would have to be Xbox only.
Surely we could at least get the first two games back on the market. And maybe they can patch War for Cybertron so it'll actually run on my PC.
The least they could do is get the games back on stores. Though I'd say it depends on how much MS wants to work on the property
I wish Get Matt Tieger and fam back, since by now Aligned is over and definitely not aligned, he could do whatever he wants. His stuff struck the happy balance of G1, but different and it’s own thing.
