My first instinct with mandates is to oppose them, no thanks to the ones pertaining to the Sonic comics, but Hasbro mandating Transformers being actual characters with screen time in their own movie is both a hilarious thought and a no-nonsense mandatory mandate. Like it's the one mandate I will actively fight in favor of. Because why would you not have Transformers in your movie about them? I didn't pay $30+ just to watch humans and only humans hijacking in a movie that's supposed to be about giant alien robots.

Honestly? I can picture them opting for Universal, which could reunite them with DreamWorks who made the first two TF movies alongside Paramount until the movies became Paramount-only. And it's actually funny because the Hasbro-owned Entertainment One is a parent company for Amblin Partners, who is the current parent company for DreamWorks. (Yeah, Universal gave us that godforsaken Jem movie, but I don't know who else they could go for. Definitely not Disney, that's for sure.)

I'd assume so since they funded and are making it.

Wait, surpass Disney how? I'm afraid the radio silence no thanks to COVID has made me less than privy about what's going on with Universal's Epic Universe (which, while we're on the subject of Transformers, should seriously have its own rendition of Swerve's).

Hmmm. I wonder if a bunch of us can establish a company made solely to buy off Nickelodeon from Paramount so we can take control of the channel and finally fix the schedule so it isn't so SpongeBob-heavy and we can finally retire SpongeBob. And we can cancel The Patrick Star Show and Kamp Koral. And then we can bring back Glitch Techs and Rise of the TMNT. And make it so that the NickToons channel isn't basically a euthanasia clinic for Nicktoons that Nick has zero faith in because it's not SpongeBob or Loud House-adjacent.

Calling snake eyes a disaster at 40million isn’t really fair as it was a pandemic movie and all of them (until Spider-Man) grossly underperformed.

Wasn't there some theme park out in China that was exactly that?

Yeah. I was requesting that if the new Universal theme park is getting Transformers stuff, then it should have a version of Swerve's that isn't in China.

Epic Universe is rolling along full steam ahead and Universal has already knocked it out of the park with Velocicoaster in IoA, which genuinely is being considered one of the world's best coasters by trusted rollercoaster enthusiasts.

Disney got rid of Fastpass for a money-milking scheme Genie+, halted construction of the TRON coaster (Which also left the WDW railroad non-functional since that crosses underneath the ride's entrance plaza) in favor of the widely mocked Galactic Starcruiser hotel which looks like it will be the biggest disaster since Eurodisney (it was bad), and the parks are starting to fall apart because maintenance is being deferred as Chapek is now in charge and he isn't deriseively called "cheap-ek" for nothing. They can't even be bothered to replace the old Monorails running the resort line even though they're decades past their end-of-life dates and have been documented literally falling apart or being unreasonably unsafe (like doors failing to lock closed while the train is in motion). And Disney prices just keep rising while they give you less, Universal in comparison hasn't changed that much and looks like the better deal across the board with every money-grubbing move Disney makes.

It's still a disaster because I'm pretty sure losing $60 million, more than half the budget, for any reason isn't going to look good on the financial reports. Paramount isn't going to get a consolation check with a bunch of zeros behind a 1 on it just because it was "the pandemic".

Good Riddance. One step closer to a fresh live action movie start that hasn't happened yet.

The speed with which any remotely-Hollywood related thread becomes about Disney is truly a wonder to behold.

I mean, that's what happens when Disney owns an alarmingly large portion of the entire entertainment market and its past ten years is most remembered for how many things it ended up absorbing into its corporate umbrella.

When you own the worlds most popular entertainment movies, you are bound to be the center of discussion. Especially when Disney movies always dominate more then just the box office.

That's the purpose of the thread. Maybe read it?

Nobody knows exactly, but nothing directly or short-term impacting TF.

And no one's done anything about the Monorails because...? And we're not seeing immediate ramifications about everything else because...?

It means new projects Skydance develops get shown to Apple first. If Apple passes, they can take them elsewhere. But they can't show them to anyone else before Apple's had their chance to bite. New entries in already established franchise projects don't count, so Transformers isn't impacted in the short term.

In the long term, it's one of the thousand cuts Paramount may someday die from, and that would mean the Transformers franchise would need to find a new studio home. But that's way down the road.

The last time Hasbro had full control was The Hub.

I mean, some of that info is questionable. I did a quick search on the Tron ride, and they actually did resume work last summer and have been slowly progressing.
