Thor 1 is easily my favorite, I like the high fantasy mixed with science aesthetic. Even though there might be a bit too much of Natalie Portman and Kat Dennings, I actually like the more grounded story with the human element.

Prince Caspian has actually grown on me over the years. It's my personal least-favorite of the three (I actually quite like Voyage of the Dawn Treader), but I think they're all pretty good and even a bit underrated.

And I'm also in agreement that LOTR's runtime is an issue. I think it's justified considering the epic story they were telling, but I do feel the runtime eventually. They're not movies I want to put on all the time.

I have to disagree since I personally like Ragnarok the most. Excluding Loki who is by far the best part of the Thor franchise period because of Hiddleston's portrayal, I find Thor 1 to be ultimately a boring set-up for all the stuff in Avengers and Thor 2 I still can't take seriously because ELVES with LASERS are the main antagonists. Thor 3, though, there it actually has Thor be more than simply bumble his way through everything until he inevitably uses his powers to save everyone, demonstrates the brotherly bond he has with Loki and why he's put up with all of Loki's shit over the past several films, and is self-aware enough about the plot being silly as hell that it knows when to poke fun at itself with crap like 'the Revengers'.

Unless it is canned for any reason. If ROTB flops, I don't know if Paramount is even going to remain functional with how much debt it will be in.

You really want Paramount to fail don’t you?If one of the big studios also fails then it would be bad for cinema.

If Paramount fails due to its bad business decisions, you won't find me shedding a tear.

I doubt it can be canned since they're already to far into it and also just it's currently in production
Also bad for TF's as a franchise and even the toys.

This isn't about my opinion, Paramount's finances have been in the toilet since 2017 because their movies simply haven't been doing well. This is the harsh reality of economics - you don't make profit and your company is going to go bankrupt. Paramount at the end of the day is a business that will go away if it can't reach a sustainable level of profitability, no matter how much you don't want to believe what was reported as news some months back.

This means nothing about how far into production it is. Bumblebee only ended up getting a pass instead of being canceled outright because it was in post-production and even then Paramount needed more money to finish it. That was the whole bit about Hasbro renegotiating their partnership with Paramount in order to cover the money lost when the HuaHua Media contract was revoked as a result of TLK's disasterous performance.

If Paramount runs out of money again and nobody wants to put more money into them to finish a project associated with something that's seen as an unprofitable venture...what do you think will happen? People aren't going to work for free.

Animated movies can be canceled at any point in time. There are a shit ton of animated movies out there that are 80% completed or basically completed and just needed to be rendered out and voiced that were scrapped completely.

I’m pretty sure he doesn’t want them to fail. I’m sure most of us here don’t want Paramount to go under. We just want them to provide a good quality Transformers film. But alas, they are still shooting themselves in the foot with people like Lorenzo calling the shots.

I do find it amusing that it's become such a thing to react to people saying bad things about Paramount, that pointing out how Paramount legitimately has been in a bad position for years is somehow regarded as personal bias instead of simply an observation from known financial data. One more massive flop and the company is toast.

Paramount has rightfully earned a lot of criticism for how they handle the TF films. As you precisely stated, people conflate criticism with having hard feelings against the company. It really doesn’t foster productive debates if we just accuse people of being biased against corporations. Then no one learns from their mistakes.
