It likely won't effect the release but this could be a sign that Rise of the Beasts will likely be the last Transformers from Paramount.

Indeed. There have been some suspicious high-profile departures from Paramount over the past year, executive wise, and the fact our most recent piece of 'hype' material for ROTB had to come from the guy who wrote the script not being used despite said material making it clear how heavily Lorenzo was involved, instead of just having Lorenzo himself run his mouth off, is a very noticeable change from the usual way the pre-movie release period was going.

    1. I like the idea of Hasbro having more creative control. After how much TLK seemed to detest the very idea of Transformers, a little more corporate meddling may in this specific case be appreciated. I mean, they can really only go up from TLK, but Hasbro may mandate things like "the Transformers should be actual characters with screen time." Crazy I know, but one can hope.

    2. Paramount losing support was inevitable. They're struggling, and even if ROTB is successful I can't see it being that much of a boost to their image. If Hasbro pulls TFs from them I can't say I'll be surprised.

Does this leave Paramount with ANYTHING on the level of major blockbuster between now and then? It feels like Paramount doesn't have confidence in literally anything they have anymore.

Give live action a break and try animated. There are number of studios finding success in that space and maybe it'd motivate them to tell stories that are more accessible to both parents and kids.

Beast Wars would make a *fantastic* animated film. Unlike cars you could have a lot of fun with animated beast modes in different scenarios on modern Earth.

We still have the Animated prequel coming from Josh Cooly. I hope it gets released before Hasbro decides to call it quits with Paramount.

Huh\'However, it is stated that Skydance Media will still retain the rights to co-produce and co-finance Transformers & G.I. Joe franchises. But the terms of that are unclear at the mmoment\'Seems like nothing changes at the moment, unless it\'s a sign Hasbro won\'t renew the contract with Paramount, and they\'re rethinking everything G.I. Joe & Transformers.  Though in a way, u see nothing changing; same old fabs debating no matter who takes over the comics and possibly movies.

As much as that has potential to do well, Sonic isn't one of Paramount's biggest franchises. ROTB is increasingly looking like it will be the make-or-break film for Paramount's very existence or if it has to go bankrupt.

My money is on Universal proper. They already have the agreements set up with the theme park rides (and on that front, Universal is looking like it WILL surpass Disney as Epic Worlds is going to soon be the third gate at Universal Studios Orlando).

The release of that movie is not set in stone. It very well could be canned mid-development, it's something that is a frequent reality in the movie industry.

Interesting, and this coming after Legendary going with Apple with a live action Monsterverse(Godzilla) series and not WB/HBO Max, which is where the other films have been co-released with, though this doesn't include Kong I believe. Don't be surprised to see Paramount going up for sale in the coming months and they begin to auction off their IPs.

Add in that the CW network is up sale which is/was a co-owned venture between WB and Paramount going all the way back to when both were known as the WB and UPN. WB's properties will be going to HBO Max obviously which leaves Paramount holding the bag.

The entertainment and its major players will be different in the next couple of years in the theatrical and streaming space.

Edit: Plus, WB/HBO Max cannot do any new deals/green light anything new until the Discovery merger is done as far as I'm aware. They're not in much better shape. Hopefully Discovery cleans house in the management department over there.
