They do, and the knee pads are supposed to move but mine are so tight I fear trying.

That red Mirage is going to look amazing with Powered Convoy. Glad that I'll have the both to pair together

For me he looks best with the hips half way between up and down.
He has better proportions that way, and better height. Luckily the tension of that hip pin is strong enough to hold him like that.

Just received H42EX Mirage, the one with G1 Toy paint scheme.
I think it is one of the best car bot design from newage, on par with Jazz, and the G1 toy version pays the homage to G1 figure like nothing else, great figure.

I went both EX blue and red and left behind the toon, didn't like the head and I feel the plain deco was just too plain.
That's funny.. don't have this guy in hand yet, but keeping the torso extended from the hips are how I have my Datsuns and Jazz as well, to give them a bit more length and height, and I think they look better for it.

Respectfully disagree. It's a nice finish figure with plush finish but he is not anywhere near Jazz and the datsuns level of great. He kind of feels like a carbot from dx9 days, if they'd released one. I have suspicions this might be a design from the dx9 days... the heavy focus on clever tricks and not accuracy is one reason i think that.
Articulation is also poor on this figure.

I have hopes for hound he looks excellent even without the revised feet.

Thats a shame, because its diecast you could try unscrew the wing and cover it with some cloth or other to protect the coating while you give it a little hammer. Might create a tighter friction joint.

I never felt their height was a big problem, maybe because i nothing much to measure them too as newage was brand new. Never minded the squat style of them either because the characteristics of the character was all there... Only thing i ever thought was the angle of the datsuns chest, which points down, which of course you can vary the angle of by untabing the chest/hood for a more straight look.

I had been going back and forth between this and the 'toon deco, but I think this review has helped me finally make up my mind: toy deco it is! He just just looks so good with the other carbots, and it doesn't hurt that I had Mirage as a kid. I think I will paint the eyes blue, though.

Oof. That pre CNY rush to unload 3p figures is pretty rough on the wallet. Lol

mirage showed up today and he is amazing. One of my front spoiler hinges is a bit floppy but other than that all the tolerances are perfect. Love the chunky diecast toes as well.

Nice little line-up... the scale is perfect, IMHO

    Got mine in today:
    na prowl mirage jazz car.jpg
    mmc and na mirage car.jpg

I know the knees are mistransformed here, I left it that way on purpose. I dunno, something seems off when the pieces are in the correct position:

As seen on the other Mirages, I think its because I'm used to the longer side of the silver part to be perpendicular to the ground?

In any case, its a nice little guy, though I'm not sure I'll collect them all- I'm definitely in for the red version (if I'm get the toy design, I'd rather have it in red than another shade of blue), and possibly Lamont Cranston. Definitely the G2 version if they came out with it.

Picked this and a few of the other Newage recent releases up after a break from Legends scale.

In my opinion this is a knockout! A whole league above the Iron Factory which I thought was decent Mirage if a little clunky.

The transformation design on the Newage is genius. Brilliantly painted, nicely sculpted, and made of solid stuff. The tolerances on mine are tight as well. Made a short vid if anyone's interested:

Got mine in the mail today.

I'll start first by saying, it's a well built figure. He fits in just fine with the others, even with their balljoint elbows. Great articulation, fun transformation. Colors are great, face sculpt is great. The swap-out missile is a cool extra that I can ignore if I want, or upgrade to a more powerful arsenal. Once I got the Autobot symbol on him, he was perfect. Even the tiny little bit of 'squish' in his overall form doesn't bother me one bit. It's a good figure.

I also appreciate in an era of faux-everything (particularly from NA), the kneecaps are still technically a part of the engine block in car mode. On TE-01, I just consider them metal knee guard block things, since you see his engine on the back. If I can ignore it, they can Faux all they want. But it's cool that they associated that element from the cartoon in such a cool way.

But the first thing I felt when I opened the package and saw the little figure inside his box (which I knew the size, since I've got the other NA cars) was, "I paid $46 for that tiny little thing." The engineering alone just can't warrant that, at all. Granted, I always felt the others at $35 was way too much for what you end up getting. Especially considering how many recolors they do that pay back all mold and engineering cost. But hey, this is the same group that is currently charging $65 for their new Starscream, and you know that mold was paid for eons ago.

Transforming him and getting him to bot mode made me feel a bit better. Maybe next year I can look at him and not feel that sting, but that's not really how I'm built. And it's not like I'm pressed for money; I do very well for myself. I just get the value of these things. And I'm almost looking at their Hound and waiting to confirm that those front fenders aren't 'compressed' in those renders and are indeed faux parts so I can cancel the thing and be done with it. Might do it anyway. I'm just not getting that giddy feeling like I just got for my $130 DS Skywarp, and that's considering I have the mold two prior times already. Or $135 for Transart's OpOp, which at first glance seems like you just have the original TM figure, until you get it in your hands and realize how superior he is. And Legends is...maybe was...my jam. My fault though. I keep buying.

He's a good little figure. But let it be inflation, shipping cost issues, or NA just knowing they can squeeze a few more dollars out of their buyers like they were FT fanboyz (hint: it's all three). I don't think he's worth $46. He's certainly not worth the $50 he tends to go for. And $60 at a US retailer? I expect those to sit a good long time, but wouldn't be surprised to see them sell out either.

The nineties were all neon. I thought at the time it was maybe me just outgrowing toys, but no, the nineties were just.. bad for kids stuff.
