Agreed. IMO Raiden is a one-of. Glad to be proven wrong, but not likely.

You can clearly see Fireflight's grey head in the middle of the green highlight of the right shoulder (left side of the picture).

They certainly could have updated things, but I don't see much reason for them to alter the shoulder joints as long as the arms are secure. Even if it was changed though you can see how the head is in it in the above angle shots and there is no reason for them to change it in such a way to add pressure to that thin panel the head is on.

Instead of MMC Bruticus size I believe what was meant is MMC Bruticus style with it largely all-built-in (not sure where the ankle gun/boxes will come from) without the extra parts that are necessary to increase height for smaller individuals. What we know is Takara showed a picture comparing Shouki's size to MP carbots. So Shouki will be slightly taller than Sideswipe in my picture below compared to an FT limb (my Aerialbots are in jet mode right now so I used Breakdown) and FT Silverbolt. They are not comparable. His size would be comparable to XTB Stunticon cars, but their combined mode has an external skeleton to increase height that Takara Raiden will not have. Based on what we have seen so far I expect Takara Raiden to be only slightly taller than FT Silverbolt alone. EDIT: Seeing the picture now positioning Silverbolt infront of that white wall mount piece was probably a mistake (done casually, not intentionally)

I disagree, all of the DST's jets actually look like jets, that's just FT's laziness, which is unusual, as they generally pay attention to details.

The DST Aerialbots don't have the requirement to look like anything other than a basic humanoid shape in any other mode. Completely removing accuracy from 2 of the 3 modes makes things far easaier.

I just went back and looked at the prototypes we have seen for DST. DST clearly has a better jet for Sky Dive. What little we have seen of Air Raid honestly looks to be not that different. Slingshot and Fireflight maybe I could see a difference if I was a jet person, but they appear to come out even as far as I can tell other than the fact that DST is all in on real world vs FT going for cartoon characters. As for Silverbolt what we can see at least I feel like FT actually beat DST as far as not having a robot hanging under the jet mode.

 

Maverick beats DST's version in jet mode (for now) but Maverick sacrifices the combined mode (it doesn't have one). Trade offs I guess.

I guess is possible to have a blocky bot and a decent jet but for some reason FT didn't want to.

 

But do they in reality or just in name? Do we only call Takara MP? Do you really own something if you make less than 10% of its content? ...possession is nine-tenths of the law. I know I don't care if Takara is official and I even mentioned it in the post. It's quite conceivable that 3P eventually replaces the entire Takara G1 lineup. Hope I am not misunderstanding the intention of your statement.

the FT ones are MP-scale G1 toon representations and DST are like GT/TFM/IDW comic kinda/CHUG-ified versions of the Aerialbots

 

TT owns Masterpiece. They do not own the concept of masterpiece.
