It’s not that, it’s that the pretender inner robots looks like nothing, I like weird, the pretender inner robots aren’t weird, they’re boring

The first one is a Package Refresh (reissue of the first Core Megatron), and the second is the G2 version.
I believe the G2 one was discussed a while back.

Okay, wasn't sure as I dont keep nearly as close of an eye on the Core Class stuff. I figured with PR in Megatron and Optimus's product names.

I mean, they're definitely late G1 in design, and have plenty of detailing that could be used in a redo, the biggest problem is that they look like they were intended to be similar silhouette wise to the cartoon characters rather than the other G1 toys which makes them looks out of place

I don't think they're any more boring than any given Siege figure. They're cybertronian alt modes. Personally, if it's good enough for pretender core class.
I think Hasbro missed the mark by not doing something like the idea I posted before of releasing these in conjunction with RED figures of the shells with a slot to plug in your core bots.

What I would really want to do if I was in charge is go full on Soundwave with these guys.
I'd make fully transforming voyagers of the shells with a compartment for the core class figures.
The shells would use the original names and the core robots would get new names like a lot of the TR not-originally-headmasters got.

they released targetmasters at retail and their original designs are as bland as they come. WFC updated them, and I have no doubt that an updated inner pretender bot would be more appealing.

    My thoughts:
Honest congratulations to Hasbro/Takara for finally being the 1st to reveal some figures outside of a Pulsecon & before the reviewer/theives and asian retailers. = )
Lol at Iguanus' "broken right ankle" in 1st pic.
Impressive! Ankle tilts due to transformation plus the big feet & long heels may result in more stable action posing.
Will he have neck or waist swivel?(unlikely)
How do the wheels & windshield transform?
Does the part with the wheels detach to become another accessory?(unlikely)
    Do the wheels roll?
Would probabably like such a unique, beastly character for the collection, if he turns out worthy.
    Where are Skywarp's arm cannons?
Here's hoping to have many more seekers of this mold!(with arm cannons) = )

Isn’t there an accessory pack set coming up? I would hope Skywarp’s null rays would be found there.

I think the Warhammer kid in me is gonna make me end up getting Iguanus after all. Lizardmen were my favourites in OG Warhammer.

I wonder if anyone at Hasbro is considering a remold of Iguanus for Studio Series TLK Core Mohawk. They kinda look similar.

Imo, that would be worse than not having them at all. Sets like the Centurion pack should have accessories that usually only come with masterpieces, like Ironhide's drill & Trailbreaker's radar dish that appeared in one episode each, not accessories essential to a character. An '84 Seeker without arm cannons is not worthy of purchase.

I think Groove would have made for a good mold to repaint Iguanus’ inner robot from.

If they redid the concept I think it would be funny if the shell was full of slime lol
