Unlike Doctor Who, Transformers lore is modular. You can pick it apart. That isn't a threat ever because anything bad can just be shoved off into its own universe and won't affect anything. Its why the Beast will never show up again but Volcanicus or Buckethead might

Your aformentioend favourite of Animated wouldn't have happened if people didn't deviate heavily, Animated being a huge deviation in how it handled the war and everything. Regardless though, gatekeeping is locking people out of things for being perceived not as 'True fans' which is, a dumb thing.
    No. Absolutely not. 110% no.
The way business things go, other company probably offered more money.

It's not unexpected in fairness. After idw1 ended I had reservations that the new continuity would last as long as the first big run. Putting g an inexperienced writer on the book at the start was a poor move. It should have been furman or barber, I never expected Roche or Roberts but at least have someone with experience in conics and in the franchise. It hasn't been all bad. The recent idw annual was a good read but its slow and boring at times.

I've stockpiled the last few ussies and I think I'll get the rest of the run and have a tf reading marathon. Tf comics mean aa much to me as the figures and I hope when the new continuity starts someone experienced writes it.

Rip idw but you were on life support for a good while

Just thinking, but if I were Hasbro this would be like step one or two in attracting serious attention from a large media company that already owns a comic label and likes to buy up large properties...

I believe it will stay in your library forever as long as you have access to it, just no store page. I still have some of the Revolution comics that were once on comixology before they were removed from the storepage and those can still be downloaded, if you're that desperate to read Revolution. XD

I'm thinking that too Marvel is probably licking their lips. Sure they have Star Wars, Conan, Alien and Predator, but they would not want to pass up the chance to reprint nearly 40 years worth of material again and you know they want to stuff the Transformers into the Marvel universe with a Spider-Man cameo again.

But what effect will this have on the "IDW Collection" for Transformers phase 3? I'd hate for the story to be left incomplete

Transformers is the biggest franchise Hasbro owns, there's no way they sell it without selling the company itself too.

We don’t need Disney owning Transformers. They already own half the world.

Afterlife was needed after how terrible the all-female reboot was and J.J Abrams didn’t know crap about what he was doing when he wrote the Sequel Trilogy.

It’s the best bet, Manga has been constantly beating Western comics for obvious reasons.

About time! IDW hasn't written a good (Transformers) story in several years now.

I'm not saying Hasbro want to be bought by Disney or even if it's a good thing or bad, but I would say that Disney buying them wouldn't surprise me. MLP, GI Joe, Go-Bots, board games, toy production... all things that would gel well with Disney's own monster conglomerate.

In general this would be a mixed bag, I think. Disney are pretty good stewards of their catalog, but greedy af and not terribly adventurous.

I’d be lying if I said not being able to get remaining trades would suck… I guess if push comes to shove I’ll buy the last issues before the rights leave and comics go out the window from comixology…

Told you people that source was reliable.
Well, back when the \'-ation\' comics were coming out, I would have  been sad. Now? I am gonna open a bottle of champagne and be glad that hopefully Transformers comics can go back to being about giant robots in a never-ending war instead of endless political meanderings and relationship drama. If I wanted that, I would watch TV dramas, thank you very much.
The only comic of late I cared about was TF 1984, and that was sadly a miniseries (so badly advertised, I thought it was an ongoing), so... nothing of value has been lost.
