I really hope so just because he's definitely the going to be the one with the most unique challenges in terms of combined mode. I think we all basically know 90% of how the arms and other leg will work out already, but Raiden's hips/lower torso are an interesting thing to learn about how it definitively works.

    Yep!
(And for spider-sense, i mean that they're teasing that train from 2 pics now)

Maybe the original plan was to go in Diaclone number sequence, but after the silhouette backslash, they went with Kaen first just to reassure the customers (and i can say that the backslash worked because the went with robot measures in Getsuei presentation... both robot measures.)

If the head comes with Kaen, he's going to ne last. Also Yukikaze is a complete leg, even if they continue with the overlay, anyone with minimal perception would realize something wasnt right.

    :D  you're overstimating people

For the head, these two black pieces make me wonder if the head comes from the arm pieces... combining.

A bit OT, but it's not worthy of a separate thread (not until I have all 3) but I'm now up to two-thirds of JRX/Team Bullet Train in "MP actionmaster" form! (accurate alt-modes that can't transform).

And they are made by Tomy, so they're practically official merch.

I have been quite tempted to get a Type 0 and/or Type 200 to go with them. Get ALL the Autobot bullet trains...

Yeah I reckon that should be 210mm instead of 510mm. Easy typo on a keypad I suppose.
    The rest seems right.
So according to this article, the scale is 1/87, just like Shōki.

Here’s the article for Shōki, in case it hadn’t been posted yet:

I notice a lot of that article is cut-pasted from the one for Shouki. That has me wondering about it being 1/87 *scale*, because it says windows, pantographs, etc, AND RAIL WIDTH. That's gauge, not scale, and is the critical real-world difference between Shouki/Yukikaze and the other 4. Asides from adding "pantographs" it's word for word the same as Shouki's article said there. I'm guessing they didn't consider how those two locos differ that way, and basically blindly copied much of the info. I'm very curious to see exactly how wide Getsui's rails are, because 1/87 of the real ones won't match up with 1/87 of Shouki's.

From what I’m seeing in the pics provided, the 2 trains appear to be in the same scale (1/87). And if the picture of the 2 trains together, sitting on their tracks, is to scale. It looks like the rails are slightly farther apart on Shouki’s track. Of course, it’s pretty hard to tell if there’s the ~4mm difference in width between the 2 based on the one pic.

Edit: looking again, you can clearly see there’s more edge gap between the rail and the edge of Getsuei‘s track piece compared to Shouki’s. It’s actually even more pronounced looking at the tab at the end of the piece. If those tabs are the same width, assuming they can be tabbed together, then I think it’s fairly obvious that they’ll run on different gauges of tracks.

Comparison of the 2 trains from the front using stock images available. Getsuei's rails are indeed narrower.

I guess that means although the MPG Trainsbots can link up, they won't be able to do so running on the tracks provided.

Ah, nice. I didn’t see those pics. They clearly show the difference.

That's actually kind of a bummer that they didn't design them to be able to run together.

I agree but I understand the decision. If they’re really going for the train collector crowd, they do need to ensure they stick to the 1 scale throughout the set including gauge of track at that scale.

Yeah for sure, I get it too and it won't actually impact me in any way, just would have been a neat gimmick.

It's somewhat interesting to see that, while I assumed the CR2000 Bullet Trains to be realistic, that isn't quite the case, and that they're actually quite deformed similar to how G1 Raiden is.

Funny that I've seen photos of the real deals, and never picked up on that fact. I guess that's definitely a trick of perspective.

TakaraTomy have shown so far that they're not compromising at all with train scales and gauges, even if it means they can't run together using the tracks provided with the figures. Which seems odd since Kojin Ono drew attention to how they were willing to fudge the type of couplers on the non-Shinkansen members to allow all 6 MPGs to connect.

I guess having them joined together without being on their tracks is better than not being able to join together at all.

Well, there is a lore-friendly reasoning behind that particular decision.

The Trainbots linked up in the anime, but they rarely/never used tracks. So fudging the couplers is the closest they could get to having their cake, and eating it too.
