Glad to hear they showed up. At least with FedEx you know they’ll show up sooner or later. Yeah shipping is damn expensive these days. I spent $45 shipping just documents to the US the other day so I guess the price for shipping those giant boxes isn’t too bad in comparison actually.
See, that is the funny thing, I was used to paying about the same rates for packages out of Japan via FedEx and when that was more regular thing, which was more than five years ago. And with the size of these sets, and I do have three sets of Intercessors in this box, I am actually pretty happy with these shipping costs...honestly don't know why anyone would pay the BBTS markup and delay with the LT pricing and shipping being what they are... Last but not least, that must be pretty damn awesome to be able to go into their store in person more or less whenever you want, and to be able to pick up individual/replacement figures, very cool! While we used to have one of the most well known and reputable toy stores in the entire state minutes from my house where I live (and I grew up knowing the family who owned it, friends with the final owner until the day they closed) there isn't a toy store, and certainly not one that carries anything that would even really interest or surprise me, within half a day of house...probably something in Chicago (4 hours)...or NYC (12 hours)...maybe some game stores...maybe a few toys here and there...but something like a Locker Toys...HA! (I am also aware I am probably making it sound faster/easier than it is since HK is pretty huge) As I was typing this...a package arrived... I couldn't wait until later for the Librarian unboxing...and while I haven't played with him extensively...I can report that I don't feel any loose joints...and while his right shoulder pauldron was detached in package...I was able to pop the arm off, plug the shoulder in firmly (its a little barbell ball and socket setup, the under shoulder armor is rather soft)...and pop it back together and it is holding quite nicely so far. Plus his paint apps are pretty solid...maybe not perfect...but with all of the weathering effects *shrugg*. The other twelve marines must wait in their tower of boxes until later...soon enough my pretties!
Long time lurker first time poster! I love the Joytoy line. I'm waiting for my Invictor Warsuit to ship this week.
I am absolutely bristling with excitement hours later looking over at this Librarian...I admit I really lucked out with such a solid build, but this thing is simply fantastic! I honestly could and will sell 50% or more of my collections at this point. 1500+ Revoltech, Figma, Gundam, Stikfas, Xevoz, and some other random stuff is out the door. Assemble Borg, Armored Puppets, AstroBots, Snap Ships, Lego...those can stay but even then, by this time next year, the office displays will probably be entirely covered in JoyToy 40k... My only problem is that my cat is absolutely obsessed with the smells coming off of the rubber tubing and psychic hand...he is used to my collections and is generally very well behaved...but they are sorta sickly sweet smelling and he is just fixated right now...I worry he is going to be tempted to NOM...it was funny watching how intensely he was smelling it and almost licking it...but we have had to have words more than once already now, so it won't be funny for long! Wow, so I finally took a break for a few and opened one of the twelve Intercessors and Wow! Did I say wow! already? Well, WOWEE! While the first round was already pretty great...and the Librarian is beautiful...these are just solid figures in every way...I am honestly kinda speechless with how well done these are...and I have a LOT of really nice toys...but...man...every attention to detail has been paid...and THIS is a Space Marine...hot damn! I almost bought the McFarlane figures...I almost did it...and then something said...No, wait! These are not the right scale...this and that looks wrong...just be patient...I am now soooo glad to have listened to that voice! If the QC is as solid on the rest of my figures..and they keep things trending this way...this is going to rapidly overtake my top spot in my collections...and that is really saying something. I'm already considering how I am going to handle the expansion until some teenagers leave and I have even more rooms for display space again...to be clear, I probably have something like 200 linear feet of display space available in the office alone, so I'm not hurting right now...but we've seen a glimpse of what is coming...and the rumors are there are anywhere between 60 and 80 figures up for GW approval right now...terrifying and awesome!
Well, got the Marines today. I'm impressed. Very impressed. The only complaint I have is that the pistols don't store on their belts or thighs.
I think blame the original GW models for that. The holsters on the models never quite look to scale compared to the pistol weapons being held in hand. The pistols usually look bigger than their supposed holsters. That said I do wish maybe there was a holstered gun and unholstered version of the holster for the intercessors like there is for the infiltrators but since they’re on the back of the intercessor and not on the leg, you won’t normally be looking at the holster anyways.
While that looks amazing, I don't think Primarchs are that big. I remember reading that they're about a head or two taller than normal Marines.
