I don't know why so many people act like the sky is falling. Some figures are peg warming but past waves are long gone, the only stuff really warming are store exclusives.
It happens all the time when people see a bunch of stuff on the shelves with every line. Suddenly the line is destined to end. Shit, if that were the case Marvel Legends would have died a long time ago.
Also...when did Fakor become a store exclusive? I thought there were pre-order listings for him at BBTS and Wal-Mart at one point. edit: Yup, there is.
It was a limited-time store exclusive to Target before it became widely available. Same with Battle Cat. Skelegod and the rest of wave 1 were only available at Wally World at first as well.
That's what I figured. So he's not a store exclusive that's clogging the shelve, but a mass release one. Here's hoping he's the last peg warmer for awhile.
A mass release one that was likely over-ordered due to it originally being a limited run exclusive. It also probably didn't help that the deluxe assortment only had Faker in it until this year. Keep in mind that it being a limited-time exclusive to Target probably caused their automated ordering system to over-order it based on the fact that it was probably selling very well for them before becoming available elsewhere. Honestly, this whole thing that Mattel did with both Origins and Masterverse where certain stores got things as limited-time exclusives is kind of an idiotic way to handle a toyline. The only other figures I can remember peg warming were Skeletor and He-Man but since they had their own separate DPCI's/SKU's apart from the rest of the regular figures that kind of made sense. Also, Battle Cat did dependant on where you live, but I think that's got more to do with shit distribution where some stores get hundreds of a figure and others get zilch. I still don't think it's indicative of an issue with Masterverse (or even Origins) so much as it's something that affects all toylines in general since distribution has always been kind of shit like that.
There’s no way the top of the torsos are same on the standard he-man and savage version, right? Look at those trapezius muscles, and the way the neck is more hunched. Or am I seeing things?
I found Triclops the Target site was actually correct, even though I just wanted the classic look I bought 2 for the crazy robo cult look too.
The store split on this line has been mental. Triklops was supposed to be a WM exclusive when it was first leaked.
Now's the time to get a few battle cats at target if you missed out or been waiting for them to go on sale!
I don't know why I hadn't thought to try Masterverse hands on Origins figures before, but it's opened up all kinds of fun... Oh wow! He's still running the equivalent of 50-55 USD here in the UK. If someone could be my hero and grab one (or even two) for me at that price, that would be incredible.
