So got MotU Revelations Skeletor and Skelegod. Had to use the blowdryer on both to loosen some joints but liked them enough to go and PO the newest wave from BBTS. Who knows if they'll come out here.

Interestingly we have some idea what Arcee's Prime name would have been. According to the TFWiki page for Arcee..

Though, to nitpick it should really be Arcana Magna

It does seem likely. Like, barring something akin to Maximus Ambus I imagine Ultra Magnus Prime would almost certainly have been a separate White Prime fig who combined with a trailer to make Ultra Magnus. Of more interest IMO is what his colourscheme would be. If we follow what we got then even if the 'Prime' mode was an already existing design - Transmetal 2 Optimal Optimus - then the Throne of Primes version of any of the others would presumably have had a different colourscheme. Granted Primal got a general retail release in his normal colours but I feel it's a safe-ish bet.
I kind of wonder if they would have inverted his colours so a blue and white inner bot and a shining white Ultra Magnus? That could kinda work... and be a semi Diaclone reference I believe with a blue cab? Or heck, use Delta Magnus' colours.

I do wonder what Arcee's would have been realistically as, sadly, we have little in the way of BIG Fembots to go on. I do quite like the idea I have mentioned prior more generally that would have been cool to see in PotP's Evolution Gimmick of a Bike Arcee who becomes Car Arcee.

Megatron and Shockwave really interest me, particularly due to the idea of a Decepticon as a Prime   I do wonder, would Megatron Prime have basically been a recoloured Galvatron? Would they mix elements of Megatrons from other 'verses? Would they be sneaky and give him SG Megatron's colourscheme? I kind of feel like Machinima wanted him to win considering the narrative path he had in the PWT series  

Shockwave I can't begin to speculate  

But when it sold quite well, why not then go "Shit, we should sell more!"

Oh yeah that ship they put in Clone Wars to justify a line from the OT and that he used in like 2 or 3 episodes before they forgot about it

I did, thank you. A1 Toys got them up for about £17 so I pounced on it. I meant to take a photo at the beginning of the week. So bloody daft but I'm pleased they exist.

 

Freed one of the Terrorsaurs, and it’s a mixed bag…

With my science hat on, it’s fucking woeful and is so so wrong it’s almost a guilty pleasure. I’m thinking of sending pics of it to people I know who publish and research on Pterosaurs because man it’s bad (but homages certain tropes very well).

Paint wise it’s actually pretty damn good, a few bits that need tidying up but it’s a pleasant surprise to see a good deco after SG Starscream. Yeah there’s blatantly different shades of red plastic everywhere but it’s no big deal. The teeth are painted, the beaks nice, and while there’s a few tiny issues with the eyes on the robot it’s all in all very good.

The joints are problematic, the ankles just didn’t work even after multiple coats of varnish. Some joints only moved after being lightly oiled, but I’ve had worse and it’s an easy fix I’d rather a dodgy figure go to me than someone who would get bothered by such things.

The face sculpt is simply amazing, and the figure as a whole really enjoyable, lots of room to make the transformation your own with the backpack, pretty posable even with the back kibble, and all in all I really like this figure, it’s got a few flaws, but the overall whole is way more enjoyable, I think I’d give it the edge over Waspinator for having a better weapon, and if they make a Fractyl I’ll be all over it….

Warpath would be the obvious choice in my opinion. Definitely would have take TR hard head or tr megatron as a base mold though.

It is. Some joints are a bit loose with age, and about a third of the mass is in the tail, but its not a bad figure.

Eh, not so bad so far, we've a big enough garden, so plenty of outdoor fun times in the day. Yesterday brought a bot out to photo and my devilish child grabbed it and ran to fling it into a Bush. Devilish!

Definitely think we should elect Graham to run through the dealer hall of tfn to tag stalls with symbols for a uv scavenger hunt. Winner gets an English-to- @Vertex dictionary!

I still don't understand why Studio Series, you know, the line made so we can have screen accurate toys that look like they jumped out of the film, has made Shockwave a core class.
Doesn't seem very screen accurate to me.

 

Have been greatly enjoying the Revelations figures, even (heresy!) more than Origins, the vehicles from which are amusingly compatible with the Rev peeps. @DeadBiscuit is quite right about Battle Cat; He-Man and co aren't that great at riding him due to their loincloth sculpts, but he's impressive nonetheless and also makes a great Cringer with his hat off. Am after Fisto and Stinkor at least from the upcoming wave...and Classics Teela from the next one...and Pope Tri-Clops with his acolyte Trap-Jaw...cue Furmanism...

I think Corewave is there so everyone who didn't get the previous Legends one snaffles it, then buys the G1-style retool that Hasbro cunningly releases later. And the Voyager.

I think the most interesting (for me) aspect of Core is things like that Bee Ravage (somewhere a giant Japanese hornet just looked up) and the upcoming DOTM Laserbeak, SS86 Rumble and Spike...characters that are meant to be small compared to the others. Oh, and the purple lizardbike. Core Class Stranglehold next please!

(Wonder if we'll get updated Mini-Cons, in two-packs? I still have my Mini-Con teams, am hoping upcoming Armada homages have the ports to wear 'em.)
