No, they'd just mold those whole pieces in clear and paint around the windows.

    Put it in your sig.

An engineer explained to us why this would be an issue but hey, I want them too, just don’t see it happening.

I'm pretty sure it's not quite like that, I will offer opinion based on nothing but my own.... Well opinion regardless of manufacturer and others do the same. We all have preferences and no one should get a free pass just by virtue of who made what be it Takara, Newage, Black Mamba, Milton Bradley or other.

That said, the item not shipping with the bay was a deal breaker for me because I was on the fence with my pre order due to how nice NA prime is and how similar 2.0 transformation is compared to 1.0 which is still an awesome figure anyway. Missing a part due to QC and hurting future resale should it comes to be rotated out of my collection is a big no no.

You mean that thing about the extra stress on the plastic from the twisting motion? I don't think MST will let that stop them. But I guess we'll see. If they never give us a clear window version, eventually I'll buy some clear 3d printer resin and do it myself (that'd be way down the line though - I've got enough projects I'm currently working on and I've got a backlog of projects waiting for me to start them).

I too, was annoyed by MS’s initial handling of the repair bay. But now the plan is clear, and we only have to wait a few months and we get exactly what we wanted at the correct price. And if you just want him without the bay, at a tiny discount, you can do that now. This is a non-issue.

my comment was referring to the obvious NA fans that bombard the MS threads with every minor gripe they can think of, knowing they would never buy him anyway. That’s their right, and MS fans do literally the exact same thing. But it is a bit disingenuous and at times annoying.

I wouldnt say Im annoyed about it, just a variable which moved it into the not needed category, maybe I will get a painted version later on but as it stands it was a figure I was excited for but isnt enough of a variant over v1 for me, ymmv.

Upscale this bad boy and eat HasTak for lunch. If nothing else it will force HasTak to up their game.

Upscaling this to MP would make MP44 feel like it was made in the 80s. Basically sorta perfecting MP G1 Prime.

Just an FYI for the link below, as people around these parts don't take kindly to the whole upscaling thing. I don't care either way, personally.

Legends Figures You'd Like To See Upsized

EDIT: The conversation that led to the creation of that thread happened in the MS Ratchet/Ironhide thread and is nicely summed up in this post.

for the life of me, I still don’t understand why HasTak hasn’t just bought MS (for peanuts, in the grand scheme of things) and re-released their entire backlog to collectors as a new “Masterpiece Legends” line at retail. I think they would make some serious cash, despite some cannibalization.

The proper action would be to pursue 3rd party companies for copyright and then hire their designers. Would definitely spark a cease and desist along with the emergence of a new company for a cat and mouse game, but if HasTak is aggressive enough, they could make it unprofitable for these companies. At the same time, I think the cost to legally chase them out of the market would be too much for HasTak to bear. My opinion is that Transformers are a cultural icon. You can't stop 3rd party without significant cost. Straight up KOs of HasTak offerings aside, if a 3rd party is offering something better, unique, affordable, etc. let the open market competition run.

Didn't know that was a thing. Without reading up on it or into it, that sounds sort of elitist or like gatekeeping. I believe in options. If you don't like it, don't buy it. No need to spoil it for everyone else who may be into it but be free to have and share your opinion.

I didn't either until I came across it in the MS Devastator thread. I think the general feeling is, "MP has exponentially more choices than Legends already, so quit trying to get Legends companies to make MP." I must admit, I don't like the thought of MS spending time/resources on MP either, but at the same time, if people want to post in threads wishing for it I don't care.

Isn't the copyright on these characters expired and that is why 3rd party companies are free to make products in their image? There is no infringement issue as long as you don't call it "Transformers" or "Optimus Prime", etc.

All the characters copyright expired such as Optimus Prime?

Also to keep things safe.....2.0 is so tasty but that white stripe is my pet peeve. As much as I would buy the bayless, Man that stripe and painted baby blue windows hurt. Nylon is fine though, we get to play with it nonstop. Let's face it, if we instead got a premium painted 2.0, then it would NOT be a Transformer, but a Transform.

Lol. You are dreaming. Aside from the huge backpack, MP-44 smashes this mold.

MP-44 is 9 inches tall. He cost nearly(?) $500 us.

    They're for two different things.

That's not even close to logically reasonable.

    Also disclaimer...MS 2.0 rules.

How do I downvote this comment? ;)

MP-44 does look nice but the engineering is whack. There is a version out or coming out where the backpack is reduced. Something the reviewer said which I think is true: although the smaller backpack is better, it is still built on a design that is inherently flawed (not verbatim). Upscale this and do a bit of cleanup engineering and I do think this would give MP-44 a good run but it would not be a knock out of the park outside of the transformation feeling more satisfying and less frustrating. That being said, I would prefer it be not just an upscale, but taking advantage of the larger size to refine the modes.
