Holly shit, this thing if beauty might actually happen before 2025!

I just hope the height complaments the official combiner line, considering this (and Menasor) were introduced WELL before there was an official MP combiner in the works.

That's what happens when you take forever, Fanstoys! (unless they were just holding out to see what the official size is. Then, they would get a "pass" on the wait!)

There are no official MP combiners. Takara's Raiden is part of the 'MPG' line which are just higher quality CHUG-sized releases.

Toyworld and Zeta Toys set the bar for MP Combiner height, which is around 50 to 52cm. Whether or not you consider this 'official' is up to you, but it is now the standard that most 3rd Party companies which produce MP combiners (with the exception of MMC) adhere to.

Yeah, this will be way bigger than MPG Raiden. And most people buying this won't care, in fact will be very happy about that fact.

3rd party has transcended the need to fit with official products.

I'm still a bit skeptical. We don't know if the renders are still viable or not. Who knows what FT has done to update/improve/change them.

Yep, they could have changed a lot of stuff, in particular the combination part.

To be fair, I'm wondering who is going to pose a 4 foot tall cityboy high kicking in the air. Honestly, after saying that, I want to see it.

I dunno guys, the MPG line looks to be MP scale. They are advertised with MP figs, fits MP human figs, and Raiden is (seemingly) around the same size as the MMC Bruticus. Even the name; "MPG".

I don't think the journalists reporting it had all the facts straight when the info was just rumors (in fairness, they can only use the info available). Everything that comes from HasTak seems to be leaning towards MP. Time will tell, though (it if they ever have a photoshoot with actual CHUG figs).

And due to the fact that Raiden doesn't seem to have an entire separate robot to partsform and connect the other figs into, it doesn't seem it will be the goliath that is the current 3p combiner scale guesstimate.

I'm waiting to see before getting anymore 3p though. I currently have the MMC Bruticus and the available FT Stuticons. Then, I'll have to go all Highlander on my 3p combiner scale!

Eh no good reason. I had a bad experience with Iceman who came with frozen hands so was untransformable for 6 months, and both him and Goose were covered in slick grease out of the box. Really soured me on them so I moved them on just as the price hikes were starting.

Managed to get Goose and Iceman for about what I sold them for, maybe a little more, so I'm content. As has been mentioned though sellers are taking the piss with Maverick so I'll wait on a reissue for him.

You can see from any of the stores selling preorders for MPG Shouki and Getsuei that these are CHUG sized around 7 inches and the combiner is around 12-13 inches from other threads. Nowhere near MP combiner size of 20 inches. My guess is Ethereaon comes in around 21-22 inches same with Marauder. I believe there was even talk earlier in the threads that they would be a little bigger.

I mean, even this Superion will not be able to be posed all that much. I'm keeping it real, FT is not known for its great articulation. It never was. Expecting Superion to be anything other than a poseable statue is delusional. It will not have the same playability as the Zeta/TW/whatever they decide to name themselves bots have.

    FM? lol.

You mean 3P MP Combiner size of 20 inches. The "MP combiner size" has not yet been determined, we do not know what it is but it is all pointing out as the 12-13 inches TT has set for it. We will see if other combiners from them have the same size or not if they do them at all.

Sure, MP size combiners are whatever the hell we want it to be when it comes to our shelves.

FWIW, I love the 3P combiner size for combiners. I think is the right size. Fake parts/Pants/cheating and all.

I don't consider them separate because I don't give that deference to Takara as owning MP. To me they are just another company. I would have said 3P combiner size just like before 3P did carbots we referred to Takara as MP for carbot size. Takara has never made an MP combiner before and I personally believe Raiden was a special case if their solution is 12-13 inches. 3P has Devy, Superion, Menasor, Bruticus, Defensor, Raiden already in the books to set the standard. You cannot set the standard for something you don't own or control. See MP-08 and ask GigaPower, FT, and the fans that own them what they think about Takara dinobot size. In my book 3P has taken over MP and Takara is along for the ride. Sure Takara will come out OCCASSIONALLY with single figures and they will sell incredibly well. It is the official but no one is out here throwing away their 3P collection for Takara. No one is deciding to stop buying 3P for Takara. We would all be dead waiting on Takara to give us the collections 3P made possible. Also Takara never committed to this line after the carbots so much of the 3P community came about to fulfill the need Takara refused to address.

According to Takara, MP combiner scale is apparently smaller than CHUG combiner scale.

    Takara scale is meaningless.

    I laughed. I’m sorry (I’m not).

Are their Combiners really going to only be 13 inches tall? I just can’t, lol. I can’t wait to see their car bot sized Constructicon’s lmao.

To be honest though I doubt Takara ever intends to do Devastator or any other combiner. The fact that they chose Raiden in the first place and tailored his design and scale toward model train collectors indicates to me that Takara just wanted to do Raiden specifically, and that Raiden shouldn't be taken as any sort of indication that Takara plans on going all in on the combiners.

agree. also raiden is scaled so that his alt mode fits specifically with one of the standard model train scales if remember correctly.
