Is it weird I'm so super excited for these around the end of the month??


I can't wait to have them for use in photos... They have a small bit more poseability and new design, which will really help diversify my troops. Looking forward to second set in a couple of months too.

 

I'm extremely excited for them. I bought 5 each of those sets, and 5 of the gun upgrade kit that comes with an all blue V2 Dianaut. With 5 of each one I may FINALLY have the guts to mix colors. maybe..... lol

 

So, I'm still sitting hoping we get an announcement of a full Powered Convoy colored like the original. Did they announce the black version of Battle Convoy before the regular one came out? I'm wondering if such an announcement would only happen after Powered Greater dropped.

 

I’m excited about them too! I was just looking at all of the official photos for them last night. So far I’ve only ordered one of each set, though I may end up deciding I need more. Dianauts are some of my favorite action figures and the new version looks fantastic!

 

V-shadow was revealed a few months after v-max was out. I feel like a black powered greater is definitely going to happen, though it's hard to say whether they'll make a repaint of the set in the original diaclone colours since both convoy and powered greater are such massive departures from how the original toys looked.

 

That's what I was thinking. I think the Powered colors would look great on Convoy himself, but the new upgrade parts are more about making Convoy more of what he already is rather than making him something different like the original set, so using the powered colors on them would look somewhat out of place I think.

 

Not weird at all, i'm excited too. I bought 4 copies of the first set and 2 of the second, my plan is to swap parts in order to get a full red armor, a full black armor, and a couple of red and black armors with inverted color schemes.

Also, i wanna customize the heads and get miniature super saiyans (at least from lvl1 to 3, plus maybe ssg, blue and ultra instinct). I still don't have a clue about how to sculpt the hair, but i guess i'm gonna find a way.

Then, IF i find a way, i'm gonna use one of the blue armors to make a Saiyan battle suit, but i doubt it.

Edit: i just realized i could make a custom "modernized" Saiyan battle suit by switching forearms in order to match the color scheme.

No need to sculpt the body on a 1:60 scale minifigure.

I'm currently drunk, so i'm gonna explain in order to avoid misunderstandings.

I'm planning to switch the forearms on these suits
in order to match this color scheme.

Of course, i'm not gonna use a helmet on that figure, and i don't think i'm gonna paint the boots (some Saiyan battle suits have full white boots, so i kinda don't care about them).

I've found a way to make diaclone minifigures even more interesting, yay me!

something of interest, just measured the bullet cores that come with da-80, and looks like the round locking parts on the sides are about 0.5mm wider ,so might be worth carefully filing them down a little. going to try it with mine later.

 

Just curious, how many other bullet cores did you compare them to?

 

3, tri digger, tri dasher and convoys red one (theyre the ones i have near by)

Edit: just checked red tri jetter, and that ones a little wide aswell.

So it looks like Power Greater, originally slated for release next month is delayed two months until the end of April.

I just got notice from my retailer and confirmed others on Twitter also have had the same. No info on whether or not other releases will be affected…

On the upside, this means our wallets will have a little break and releases will be more steadily spread out instead of hitting us hard in February/March.

 

I'm really okay with this change... plus I'm still waiting for DA-80 to hit at BBTS.

I'm also still really having a hard time wrapping my head about how Powered Greater would feel as a stand alone unit (I'd still imagine most buyers have some flavor of Convoy). The mech mode is interesting... but I'm not sure they really put it next to anything for scale? Suppose it's Triverse sized, or inbetween Convoy and Triverse? I also wish they'd given us pictures of the modes combined with Shadow Convoy. I know we get brief glimpses in the animated short... but I don't think those really do it justice. I know there's a couple of combined pictures with Shadow under all that armor and I'd be hard pressed to tell the difference if I didn't look at the feet.

Amiami hasn't sent any updates or made changes, yet.

Unfortunately, if you were counting on the combined shipping with the Ripper to make the price more reasonable on those, not so great a thing. It'll now go in with the bikes that were going to be light and small, so driving up total shipping price there a bit, too. May be a negligible total difference, but shipping was part of the decision making process of where to buy and how many... (My fault for counting my chickens before they hatch.)

On a whole though, I'd rather it be late than have QC issues.

 

I'm still waiting on BBTS to get DA-80, a Ripper, and 2 DA-82s. My pocket is gonna be hurting regardless of when Powered Greater comes in. If I do end up getting a Powered Greater, It'll be from TCP because BBTS takes forever to get anything in, and with this delay, I can only assume it'll be even longer until BBTS gets any of these shipments.


Speaking of Powered Greater, I'm not a big fan of it's "mech-mode", but all of it's other modes look pretty fantastic. Maybe by sticking another Vers-core on the chest, it may look better, but the chest just looks like it's missing something.

… yup, that! Now I have more time to put payments into it and soften the blow.  

 

Sometimes, that is caused by updates as they "fix" missing items. Had that happen to me a few times even after delivered. But, it can happen that they get rerouted weird too...
