Since there's a Transformers TV show possibly coming this fall I wanted to check in and see everyone's hopes and fears for this show.

I mean, I'd rather it turned out to be good than it being mediocre or crap. After Netflix, Cyberverse and the current IDW offerings I've grown rather tired of the bare minimum and would like for them to actually make an effort to make something DECENT.

As fun as it is going against the grain I don't look forward to people incapable of separating their enjoyment of something from how well it's made / written whining in my general direction for not just offering praise and so forth because apparently in current year having higher standards than none (and perhaps caring about the quality of things like character, story, continuity and so forth) at all is considered an 'elitist' position to have.

Right now, I don’t have much of an opinion on it because all we have is the promotional summary from last year. Maybe it’ll be my thing, maybe it won’t. I’ll need to see a trailer for the first season before I decide if I want to watch it at some point. The head writer of Rescue Bots is producing it, so it might be good, but until I see more concrete information about this show, I’m tempering my expectations for the time being.

First step would be to hire better voice actors. I’m kinda tired of the low budget actors we gotten in recent cartoons.

Well I can't say I am just yet cause we haven't seen or heard much about it. Like not even a name. All I can do is quietly wait & hope that what we get is gonna be good for what it's trying to do.

It's a coin flip, I'd like it to be treated as well as Nick's take on the Turtles, but they seem to be the exception rather than the rule

Judging by the premise: No. I really want to see a return to reasonably high-budget Transformers shows about regular Transformers fighting their war; with an experienced, union voice cast and creative team that's willing to evolve the story and characters as the show goes on and are willing and able to tackle mature themes in a child-friendly manner.

I'm excited insofar as more Transformers on TV is always preferable to less.

Otherwise I'm going to have to withhold judgement until I actually see it.

Also I totally forgot this was even supposed to be a thing.

As long as it's well written, well voiced, and has a fairly good animation style, then yes. If it's just gonna be more of the same, i.e. another low budget effort with non union people, generic storyline, crappy or cheap looking animation, and minimum effort, then yes.

I think we all just want another good quality show at this point, and really truly aren't that picky but the standards for shows has dropped so significantly, it looks like we are nit picking, but in reality we just want quality and that has been severely lacking recently.

It just sounds like more of the same.

Keep churning out evergreen G1 kitsch, cheap VAs and keep it dumbed down.

I hope it totally ignores me. I'm 43 years old, don't make a cartoon on Nickelodeon for me, make it for kids, and if I happen to enjoy it, great, bonus.

From what i read was quiet boring and Seemingly generic, it would be easy to have a somewhat decent story with such low expectations, if at least one character dies than I’ll give it a good job at at least

We're still very much at the "we'll see" stage. We don't even know what the characters will look like.

That's a pretty low bar, seeing as how every iteration of Transformers has featured at least one death. I think the two Rescue Bots shows are the only exceptions.

At this point I’m just sitting here and thinking “It’s been over a decade since there’s been a good show. Surely there has to be something good again soon.”

A little secret about me: I get excited for ANY TF media that comes out. I may form opinions based on aesthetics before initial launch, but I will generally maintain excitement until I can watch it. Then it's make or break time. There are a few shows that I like far less than other people do on this site, and some shows that I like more, but I give everything a chance. Every show, every comic, every game.

Is this the Bot Bots one, where they all transform into food and household objects?

If so, then no, I’m not excited for it. But I’ll probably still check it out to see if it’s any good.

Excited is a strong word, curious would be more accurate. Nickelodeons 2012 TMNT's was bloody brilliant, if it comes anywhere near the quality of that show I'd be happy.

The early 2010s in general was the last time we were spoilt for choice on good animation. Thundercats 2011, Young Justice, Green Lantern, TMNT 2012, TF Prime, Slugterra.

It's all turned to crap now. Nothing but drugged out, dumbed down, woke garbage.

ill give it a chance, like every show, but im not enthusiastic as nick focuses more on comedy while CN more on story substance and action, which is what TF needs.
