I saw something in a 3d printed Classified scale flak I was working on and only realized after I printed it what that was. I can totally see this as Shockwave. So I bought some royal purple filament and boom, here he is!
I was about to say it felt like an escapee from the SDCC crossover sets and there you go, putting HISS Soundwave in the mix! It looks fantastic, although I think there are some opportunities to make the cannon more "Shockwave"-ish - some silver on the stabilizers to evoke Shockwave's leg detailing, perhaps, maybe a "searchlight" underneath that happens to look like Shockers' chest details? That's all for a v2.0, obviously. This is fantastic work as-is!
Some tweaks to the design and I bet you could rig up a robot mode. with the current transformer crossover line(which may be dead already-no new toys in the pipeline) you’d think 1 or 2 GIJoe-compatible transformers would be an easy cash grab…
To be fair, it would be more then a few tweaks. Pretty much a whole re-design. It served its purpose in giving me an awesome shelf playset for my Classified Cobra toys. Having said that, I am now pondering an actual transformable Vamp in classified scale. Hound was used in one of the SDCC vs sets and the Universe Hound will make a pretty excellent foundation since it already looks a bit like a Vamp. Since Im designing the whole thing anyways.
Which 3P is doing the Joe/TF crossovers because this is probably on their radar. Looks great. Got a chuckle out of Classified Baroness hanging out with the smaller Destro. A proud mama watching her little guy try his first death ray.
