I got an e-mail from Forbidden Planet this afternoon confirming that MOTU Origins Tri-Klops is now en route and I've also ordered Trap Jaw off Amazon so my initial plan of keeping the sides evenly matched is already out the window because the villains are more intresting EDIT Thanks to a link to a sale at Collector's Den in the other thread posted by @DeadBiscuit I have now cancelled the Amazon order for Trap Jaw because that one was £17.99 and Collector's Den have it for £12.99. I also got a Land Shark because it was reduced to £21.99.
I was very luke warm on it to start with (saw my own arse after Revelations Part 1 being all about female empowerment yada yada yada etc, then realised it was good on a re-watch). Got 2, maybe 3 eps in and then when Ram Ma'am was unveiled I instantly turned it off, and threw the TV out of the window. I didn't hate it, but don't think I also enjoyed it at the same time. My biggest issue was Kingo and his forced comedy with the sidekick (his scenes felt like a chore), they killed the wrong characters off in my opinion but overall it wasn't bad and the ending fight was visually amazing. Shame about Spoiler: Credits Blade being revealed/teased in the scene with just his voice, I feel like they could at least have had him on screen, even if his outfit design isn't perhaps finished, also Kit's character was underused in the film I felt.
Wait, that was Spoiler Blade? I had no clue who it was. They needed to show him, or namedrop him, something to make us know who he was. Knowing it was Blade, that makes me excited. But as the show went, that end credit scene was nothing, as I don't know who Dane is meant to be either (looked him up so know now, but at the time.... nothing). Although he still made me more interested than the first end credit scene. I really don't think much of those two characters who were introduced. Overall, I liked Eternals, it's not something I am eager to watch again but I would happily rewatch it at some point. Spoiler The end does seem to have the perfect setup for Galactus. Ashimir (or whatever the celestial was called) rules his judgement as humanity is not worthy of existing, so calls his friend galactus to come over and eat the planet, leading to the Avenger movie in phase 5. Because the fantastic four movie needs to happen first to set those guys up, and considering the phase 4 logo is the actual F4 logo, for them not to appear in phase 4 is criminal. They should be the closing movie of phase 4. I had assumed the shang chi end credit scene, the rings were calling out to Galactus in that, but maybe they are calling to something else out there? Or they are calling to Galactus and Eternals has nothing to do with Galactus. He Man: I liked Krash. At least the first half, her sudden personality shift in the second half of the series was out of nowhere and weird and put me off a bit.
Yes it was, I didn't realise at the time but a quick google showed it was the actor talking to Dane. Read some stuff online about how the 2 have interacted in the past in several ways so could be interesting. Agree about the rings, and think he will be along with Kang part of Phase 4 if not setup for Phase 5.
Thanks for filling me in, I just had the same reaction as Insurgent down below..... But yeah ok that does a bit to reframe that after credits scene, not a huge amount but definitely makes it more interesting.
Hasbro Unveils Its Black Series 'Star Wars' Boba Fett Figure in All-White Prototype Armor Moon Fett? Boba Knight? Disney takes over the world?
Still haven't figured out how to make freakin spoiler tags work on my phone (after a decade.....!) So won't engage in the MCU out-loudness but if the Big G did end up as a plot adjunct to The Celestials that's where they would actually lose me. You do NOT do that. Not to him. And this finally happened: On order since Oct '20 so that's officially longer to get to hand than any 3P item I can remember. And I'm still due a basic Trooper and a Steel Brigade bloke. Now apparently I have to take the guy gently out of the box and lay him in cotton-wool, arrange a couple's massage and ensure each joint is lovingly warm and oiled before attempty to y'know, do anything dangerous and radical like pose him. Right.
Forgive me if any bit of this you already know... Button in red circle, select spoiler Then this opens Just type the name for your spoiler. Then continue. Type between the code tags. Spoiler: Whatever you like And you're all done! Edit: done on a Samsung Galaxy A52s
Gaspard Ulliel death: French movie star and Marvel Moon Knight actor dies after skiing accident Awful.
That's probably partly inspired on the early concept art for Boba Fett. I think some of them evolved to the Stormtrooper armour designs. I think there's a bit of art imitating life as I seem to recall reading something like Boba's early designs evolving into the Stormtroopers in the OT, then of course in the Prequels they had in universe the Clone Troopers cloned from Jango 'Totally not a recoloured Boba' Fett. I'm still behind so naturally avoiding spoilers but I feel like if Celestials became a big bad that Big G would be better served narratively as a potential ally against them, considering they are his ancient enemy in the comics. That said of course he's best done when more abstract. Hmm.
@Xaran Alamas, Originally Boba Fett was concieved as some sort of super Stormtrooper and the very first costume Lucasfilm built was that colour and his cape thing was actually a SW towel from the first movie merchandise which actually got recreated on at least one of the 1:6 scale figures. The costume test footage is probably on YouTube and might also have been amongst the extras on one or more of the OT DVD sets that've been released over the years. I might even have it on my unofficial DeSpecialised Editions as there's all sorts of stuff on there including Mark Hamill's appearance on Blue Peter where he was talking about sequels in the early 80's....if he could have forseen what would be done to his character when they actually happened he'd probably have pulled out but at the time there was no indication George would start to lose it after Empire and then eventually sell the company.
M'learned friend is correct here - and all that Origin stuff is on Diz + in "under the Helmet" which is advertised every time I watch an episode of Book at Bobatime. The Proto/White Fett was a Black Series Figure in about 2015 (? I've certainly had it for more than 5 years) and Vintage a few years after that. I haven't checked out the "new" offering as it may be exactly the same as the above, or if they've tooled a new one it'll have crappy single joint knees and I won't be paying for that rip-off.
One of the things I really liked about Eternals (selfishly) was the post-credit scenes and having the feeling of smugness (pretty much fogotten since Avengers) of knowing who/what these people were while everyone else is sat there going WTF? Not sure that's quite so good for the Marvel brand these days, but I enjoed it!
I posted this in the usual place but think it was lost in the shuffle but : Any Cobra Kai fans in here? Finished S4 last night, no spoilers but is it just me that thought the dramatic music at the tense points was VERY reminiscent of TFTM where Optimus passes away?? I sat up straight away and said to the Mrs ‘this is TFTM music’!
COBRA KAI NEVER DIES!!! I didn't pick up on any tftm type music, but thought it was awesome regardless. Loved season 4, my wife could hear me from upstairs shouting at the telly in those last three episodes. Cobra Kai truly is one of the only shows I get super hyped to see these days.
Agreed, just the right amount of cheese and non-PC humour! I suggest re-watching the tense bits in the last episode and compare the ‘Dun-de-Dun Dun’ drums to the bit where Space Dad kicks the bucket in 86…. It’s uncanny!
