The box conceals everything, no way to tell there, but we know it's on the Starscream mold, so it's possible and maybe even likely that they're still in the box. We'll see soon.

 

Normally I'm not that guy but: Pretenders were kind of a bad gimmick that was hard to execute in the '80s and would probably be hard to execute today with shitty economy. I'd love to be wrong, of course. However Pretenders are not popular enough to get a Deluxe/Voyager/Leader budget. Even if they did it, one part of the Pretender would need to get shafted articulation-wise to make it in the budget. Normally, I hate to be that guy and defend the corporate cost cutting but getting recent Generations-level fidelity, articulation and all that on essentially a two in one figure? Oooh, it would be a bitch to fit in the budget for such D-listers.

Pretenders are more demanding than Headmasters.

 

Yeah, I would be very surprised if the null Rays were omitted, there is almost no way they are on their own sprue, so cutting them wouldn't make much sense, but I guess we will have to see.

 

By pretending to be a pretender it is in fact a pretender

 

core class skywarp If he's a main release and not an exclusive will be great to have. Iguanus. meh.

 

Rattrap and Vertebreak/Dracodon have ball joints at the ankle, but Iguanas looks to have a better tilt due to the way the socket is sculpted. Strangely none of the G1 core class have ankles.

God I hope so, a big old voyager Bludgeon would immediately make 2022 a good year!

Nothing yet, no, but not everything has been leaked, and its probably not too much of a stretch to say that he's on the way. When a Seeker mold exists, the original trio is inevitable, and since Gen Selects doesn't do core class, evident by (IIRC) Hasbro not knowing where to put Packrat, then a release in either Legacy or whichever line follows it is the only way TC will happen.

 

You know what, I was mistaken. It's not Bludgeon. It's Skullgrin. So a Megatron retool (maybe?). I was remembering the wrong Pretender getting a Legacy Core figure.

 

One could even argue that it’s More of a pretender than an actual pretender.

 

Well, we can say RID 15 has a reference in this line because Iguanus is like the Decepticons from that show. I mean, robot mode with animal characteristics

 

I first thought that surely their marketing isn't that incompetent. Then I remember all the figures that show up in stores before we see announcements, figures that aren't transformed correctly in pictures, bad photoshops, etc etc.

 

Maybe. But a lack of them in these pictures doesn’t bode well…

 

I must say I don't wasn't expecting a motorcycle from Iguanus. That's my fault considering I knew nothing about the character anyways. However though, I'm starting to really want pretenders to be introduced into the mainlines at some point. After reading about this character they seem to be very interesting

 

Iggy bike mode + squatting Wheelie and Daniel = ??

And yes I think they are not included as they are NOT on the box art, not visible in the packaging and he seems to have that sword hilt instead - and we have seen Hasbro or Takara release Transformers with missing weapons before. Such as in the Transformers Prime line or Legends Class "seekers" with no guns - even though they used the version of the mould with the holes in the wings to take them. or Datsun Bros with the modified fist and no gun.

He's a little bit like Vroom - in that he looks like a Pretender shell but still Transforms into something.

 

Skywarp looks OK, but I didn't think that much of core-class Starscream, so, whatever. It's especially disappointing if the signature arm guns (that we know should be part of the mold, thanks to Core Starscream) are dropped in favor of his chunk of some sort of build-a-weapon.

Iguanus is curious, but interesting enough. Seems Hasbro keeps trying different ideas for handling Pretender characters. This might be one of the better ones IMO. I'll try it out.

Maybe I'm wrong, but it appears both Iguanus and Skywarp might use only a single plastic color for the entire toy, with all other colors being paint detail.

 

Well these are the official photos, that sword hilt or whatever it is is shown, null rays inexplicably aren't. And look at the box art, there are also no null rays. Draw your own conclusion. I know how incompetent the interns can sometimes be with product shots, but its a pretty safe assumption that this wasn't the usual fuck up, and the null rays just aren't included, though I would be more than happy to be wrong.

 

Rumors are that there is a red Cog accessory pack (like Centurion Drone) coming. Maybe it will have the missing Null Rays?

 

I\'ve been waiting for iguanus, and I must say, I love him, his anthropomorphized lizard warrior mode looks great, I like how he converts into the motorcycle mode, instead of having the original gimmick, just something new. 

 

Do we know what waves Starscream and Pointblank are in?

 

so is legacy wave 1 coming out in march/april?
