hey i need some help. I'm planning on making a predaking combiner that is compatible with hasbro figures so if one wanted they could put a predacon on an aerialbot, or put a stunticon on predaking. one of the modifications to the group is the number. i won't get too much into the details on how many predacons will be in the combiner but one i have in mind is a snake that turns into a sword. the idea is inspired by a fan art image of an animated predaking i saw a while back. the snake will have only two modes. snake mode and sword mode. i plan on giving the snake some poseability such as the ability to look like its slithering around. for this i need good ratchet joints that work at small sizes. the sword should be around a similar size to the dna add on kit for predaking that includes a sword. if you have any ideas on some 3d file links please notify me

You seem to be asking for a lot but have you actually ever finished anything yet? There’s a tonne of threads asking for stuff but no actual physical work done
Might want to produce something so people may be more willing to help

ratchet joins are just a circular peg with a box around it with a spike and a piece that goes over the peg with spikes all around it, super easy to make barely more complex than a normal joint. Like The13Pirmes said maybe post some images of done projects and things as you ask a lot and never produce anything, means people get tired of helping if they think their help will be used for a very short time if at all and never in anything that gets finished.

also threads like this go in creative discussions until work is done fyi

I'm only asking for ratchet joints. thats all I'm asking for help in. I'm not familiar in how to make them. I'm good on making the parts and I'm making some good headway in the work. i just need some help with the ratchet joints to prevent any flimsiness

If you want ratcheted joints that work in small sizes, then get some LEGO click hinges. One may seem weak, but two side by side multiplies the strenght.

In this case I would suggest ball-joints for the snake and when going into sword mode you collapse the joint so the two snake parts touch and lock.

already got something. but ill keep that in mind if this attempt doesn't work. i posted a suggestions request on a 3d transformers group on facebook and someone suggested i use the same kind of ratchet joint as lego uses in its bricks(small one not the ones in the lego knights kingdom(look up lego sets like jayko for what I'm not using)

also i have it on a slide block so when it goes into the blade form it hides the hinges. just need to get the shape right, and make sure the head forms correctly then boom. sword
