They also make money reviewing toys. Toys that are complicated and require a lot of work are going to feel like a waste of time and create negative feelings for a review. I actually like this hobby because it is like a 3 dimensional puzzle that gives my hands something to do while watching TV with the wife. The more complicated, the more sense of accomplishment when I get it figured out. That being said, this AAT doesn't look like fun under any circumstances.

 

Prime in the film had a pretty thin hip area, if anything making him taller makes him movie accurate.

 

Galvatron's hips are extended in the comparison with Prime, just so you know.

 

I don't think they are. You can usually see the inner diecast when Galvy's hips are extended.

But now that I look closely, yeah Galvatron looks weird, the thighs are extended.

 

He's used my picture for a comparison, I'd know my wonky bookcase anywhere.

 

With thighs fully compressed BA Prime looks way taller.

Ah forgive me. I would’ve expected to see something akin to this:

I agree, breaks up the sculpt wayyyy too much  

 

I think the sliders are there to improve articulation, not to make him taller.

 

I think emgo said it once, complex transformations isn't the issue. And i agree, complex transformation is fine, the issue is when said complex transformation doesn't consider the playability and overall feel of the sequences. Things fighting you, having to flex things, fragile tolerance, etc etc. Ultimately it lead to QC issues most of the time, unless you're being extremely careful, in which case still isn't a fun experience. The experience should be like twisting a rubix cube, not untangling a ball of wires.

 

It appears Ben had the same issue as Emgo - smokestacks on the back broken out of the box, like there's nothing protecting it. I really feel ATT tried to wrap it up and ship as soon as possible... Also a quote worth mentioning:

I really can't wait to get this on the secondary market at a more friendly price once unique toys version comes out.
