Is it the original Incursus and which shoulder is it? If it is the first release I am wondering if the left shoulder eventually gave out under the weight of impetus.

 

It's the reissue, but it's not the ratchets connected to Impetus in combined mode as that ratchet is locked in place. It's the middle ratchet joint that serves as Onslaught's forward/back rotation.

 

Yes, but the replacement only had new ratchets for the forward and back rotation. You had to use the original ratchet and spring for the up and down movement.

 

So essentially we're removing the olive coloured combiner port shoulder component again, opening it up and replacing the spring inside it with the new stainless version?

 

Yep, that's what I did, at least.

 

Can Volatus not mount his weapon in alt mode anywhere? I know he can store it, but I wanted to have it out like he's using it in alt mode.

 

It folds up and has a spot just for it to peg in. Basically "the upper rear of the cargo bay".

Yeah thanks, I edited my post to further elaborate. Was hoping to be able to have him "use it" in alt mode.

 

Just got an email from bbts, the whole set less fraudo(which I have) is in my pile of loot!!! Time to ship these bad boys! 

 

Thanks for the heads up, my impetus finally came in and now I can ship it with volatus so my Assaultus no longer looks like MMC’s take on Road Caesar lol

 

This set is so incredible. I look forward to their Defensor and any future gestalts. As a primary movie collector, I'm not sure where this goes in my collection now, except in my "bad ass robots" shelf (with both SOC Voltrons, Ultimate Daibouken, etc.

Thanks for all the good counsel @Jarrod . I'm kinda glad to be doing an 8 spring replacement on Incursus rather than cutting up tiny little pieces of mylar and padding out the existing areas of concern. Count on good 'ol Ebay to find the hardware I needed

I got my g2 vortex yesterday from TCP, along with newage david. Both are fantastic figures. I have the original warbotron bruticus but when I saw how awesome the g2 mmc set looked I had to go in on it. Will be my first set of g2 figures as I don't usually get into them.
This set though I can't wait for the rest to be released. Very happy with g2 vortex.

 

You are in for a treat, the whole set is great and fun to transform. My G1 set rotates between combined and separate because I like the toys so much

 

If there all similar to vortex then I can imagine, I went thru each of the modes on it last night and the transformation was great. Started off with Emgo's just transform it video of the g1 and by time I was going back to robot I didn't even need the video anymore. Fantastic helicopter bot!

G2 Vortex

 

I got G2 Vortex in today. I tell ya, this figure gives me some flashbacks to my childhood. Love that he's packaged in bot mode and for that matter the packaging is really nice. Not sure what to think of the pinkish purple on the faceplate, it's not accurate but it's not hateful either. The camo has a weird way of flowing onto the already purple parts on him. My copy's left side hip flap thing came with a stress mark on the hinge, doesn't look like it's going to break but I had to add silicone oil to get it to move. Everything else is golden, he's still the same Vortex mold, but with tighter joints. Anyways, he's nice, probably going to stay in bot mode until I eventually combine these guys some time in the summer when they're all out.

 

does his head pop off constantly again?

 

Nope, solid. I just picked him up by his head and it didn't pop off, so it's good.
