I'd rather know people don't like it by them voicing their opinion.

    SECRET DISCOVERY!

It looks like you can use Hot Rod's spoiler and sword as a bow weapon a la Animated Hot Rod!

    Neat!

Wish there was a Deluxe-size Hot Rod that could do the same.

Even if you don't like core hot rod, buy him to support core class. The better core does. The more interest hasbro thinks there is in the brand. The more effort they put into it.

Yeah ! He his such a fantastic little figure. I don’t know how hard he was to find for everybody, but to this day I still haven’t ever seen him in the wild. Even amazon.ca there was only 3rd seller, had to order him from a hobby shop.

Looks like they’re also repacking Rattrap, which is also good, considering he was in the first wave and he seems to have dried up… makes the most sense out of any character to repack from a prior wave.

I’ve found Soundwave occasionally, though I think it’s partly because Dracodon was stocked in droves (when you show up in 10s regularly, that’s a bad sign.)

Brand was the wrong word but i explicitly meant the core class. Core class seems to be very divisive. Everywhere i look online and in any store it seems to be selling more than everything else combined but people on the internet without sources keep telling me it's shelfwarming in europe and japan. With how the Micromasters were considered a failure, im insistent upon buying as many core class figures as i can to make sure hasbro knows to keep up the good work.

Even when hot rod is a little below the bar...

Makes zero sense to buy a figure you don’t like for these reasons, also Hasbro knows the success of core class in a lot of actual business ways

I'm not buying anything I don't want out of any misplaced sense of obligation to the brand.

This is rhe kind of stuff the line needs more of.

The UK arm of Hasbro Pulse just added the core Hot Rod figure - not a pre-order either.

Yep, I got the email from Hasbro UK and ordered him.

I was never really into figures in this scale ( unless they were actually small characters who scale that way, compared to other characters like Ratttap*, cassete-bots, etc). But I had plans on getting the Ark (which I didn't go through with. Just as well as the core's are scaled too large and there aren't many places to put them) and/or ER Scorponok (which I did finally get late last year. Yet to try out the base mode) and I figured this new set of cores would scale nice with them.

Ended up getting them all, sucker me. Considered passing on Hotrod... but I really like him. Nice robot mode. Car mode isn't bad. Not keen on blue painted windows but that's a given at this scale. And Optimus is outnumbered at the moment.

For other characters I'd have been disappointed by the lack of guns but he's got his arm blasters, and that photo of the bow option above is a nice surprise, even if it's a fan-mode thing.

*Although he is debatable as he is sometimes bigger.

The core class has been really uneven. I liked Megatron but Prime could've been better. I was basing my decision to pursue Soundwave based on how Hotrod turned out. So it looks like I'll be stopping at the leaders.

Specifically, I didn't like how awful the wheels were on any of the core stuff. G1 MicroMasters did that much better. And Hotrod's faux/shell parts are just ridiculous.

Scout class was a much better buy.
