Yup, that's pretty much the process. I circle the problematic area in my pics and specify in the text exactly what part needs replacing. That way it's very clear to the factory what I need, and I've received exactly the parts I need in the past so it works. I got the same response from SZ about the factory shutting down for a month. Probably won't see anything until a few weeks after CNY, but the vendors will usually email you pics of the replacement parts they received where you can then verify.

There's no reason to keep them in the box. If we're right about the curing at all (which honestly I'm not 100% sure) then it needs to outgas (sorta' like drying but different) which it can't do very well in the box. If it could finish curing in the box, there wouldn't be any problem because it would've finished during shipping.

Interesting you say that, I've never had showz send me pics of what parts they send me. Other vendors like tfdirect and baba, though I have.

Ah, gotcha, that makes sense. Thanks for the clarification! The only cure I know applies to pork products.
I'm apprehensive about paint scratches out of the box on this guy... I hope I get a good one.

Yeah, from the comments I've read about both Crimson Wngs and TC, the consensus seems to be that having the figures out of the box and left to sit for a few days will cure the paint and it's less prone to the scuffing and marring, especially if you plan on transforming it. I heard about them feeling chalky out of the box, and that might be the reason why.

I am sure I put a lot of the imperfections on TC from my own clumsiness handling it, but I am hoping SW won't be so bad now that we kind of know what to expect and how to kind of remedy it.

Finally got around to fixing my Starscream's shoulder last night. They had over-tightened all three screws on his right shoulder, stripping the screwholes and making his arm floppy. I tried putting strips of masking tape into the holes but they didn't hold. Ended up using UV printer resin - dripped a little into the holes, wiped away the excess, 20 seconds under a uv lamp, and reassemble. The shoulder is just as tight as the other one now and that was they only issue my copy had.

I think that no matter how long it is allowed to dry, the problem will persist. The real problem is that it does not have any layer of varnish to protect the paint, in fact I think there are parts that do and others that do not, in my figure the front part of the thighs have that chalky look that other parts do not have, I don't know if I would risk varnishing it, it is very sad to have to touch it as if it were a glass figure.

Still no movement on my Omegalock stash, damn it. RP tapes did arrive today though, so they'll have to keep me going.

Spot on advice. I am still looking through the last few pages, so I am not sure if anyone has mentioned it, but if you plan to repaint the head and clear coat it, sanding the pieces with 600 grit or higher will help. I am going to repaint mine because the side pieces of the head arent going in and out smoothly. Sanding them down lightly will help reduce the friction.

I would ask them to flash sale yours since there's things all over whether small or big, it's too much! Then they send you a full replacement. If they do that and its listed right away, it has a chance of selling quicker getting your replacement on the way before the break, then you wouldn't have to wait so long. With having so many scratches all over, I'm curious what they would send anyway. Didnt someone request a single panel for Crimson Wings and received the whole torso assembly with wings? We're all gonna have to patient regardless of our situations because of CNY, nothing we can do, but things will all work out.

my thundercracker arrived and looks great. no issues at all. as with starscream, i'm letting mine cure for a month before transforming. screamer has no paint chipping or scratching at all. i DID try the add on for tracker and it didnt scratch anything. can't wait for skywarp!

I've had my Crimson Wings for a few days, and I gotta say...

The issue of the robot "calf" not pegging together solidly is really disappointing. I heard so many people praising this guy for being incredibly solid. But having parts not peg together the way they're supposed to is a total buzzkill.

There's still a lot to like here, but the fit & finish is not up to snuff: Weirdly toleranced joints, paint flaws here and there...

He's still really good. And hey, at least he can stand up solidly, unlike the official. But I was hoping for a grand slam.

Show.z had serious problems with this exact thing with their shipping this time last year. Sorry that happened to you, man. I know how frustrating that is.

On a lighter note, looking at that picture, it struck me that I actually pay extra for Transformers that look just like that box does. I even thought to myself "I'd be all over a weathered seeker set if it looked like that box."

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go spend $300 on some faded jeans with holes in them....

Tacking onto your comment about CNY: paraphrasing from memory, Frank from Show.Z stated he was worried about shipping not even resuming after CNY. Said Omicron is spiking and will get worse with everyone traveling for CNY. I'd try to get whatever you can to ship this week because I think Show.Zs shipping cutoff is 1/23.
