OK, so, in the now-several-years-running saga of my Winged Dragon Misadventures, this is where I'm up to...

A week or so back I finally got a set of replacement wings for my V1, which had the right-side wing (i.e. behind the robot-mode hand) misassembled with 2 of the same wing parts. My vendor - who has tried really hard for a long time with my Winged Dragon issues - sent me 3 replacement wings, 2 of which were not V1 wings and 1 of which was the right version's wing but was for the wrong side. I couldn't really tell if they were the correct wings from the photo, so he just sent me what he had with a different order, and I thought it was all cool until I noticed the colours on the correct-side wing don't match. This has been a long ongoing saga with a V2 with 2 broken wings, and an earlier replacement wing for my V1 being sent out and turning out to be a Perfect Effect Doragon wing instead. I do not have good luck with Winged Dragon, which is a shame 'cos I love this piece and got him to celebrate a major achievement (finishing a Master's Degree). I'm going to email my guy and ask if somehow there might be a companion wing to the wrong-side-but-right-version wing, but if not I might need to look at a more creative way of (finally) fixing this problem, namely finding someone with more customising skill than me and seeing if they can swap out the offending wing part with one of the spare wing's correct parts.

So, @Joalro or anyone else who has done surgery/custom-work on this guy...

1) I'm not totally sure, but it looks like the wings are pretty much the same mold on both sides, i.e. if you swapped out a matching part from one wing to another (i.e. a right-side wing to a left-side wing) it should still work. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

2) How much of a pain in the *** is it to knock out the pins on those wing joints? If I were to try and get the main wing 'flaps' swapped out, would that be doable or is it likely not to work and/or not be possible without damaging the part and/or wing more generally?

I just want my Winged Dragon finished and complete dammit, this sucks.

Well I guess this company is dead in the water. Love winged dragon but I might just sell mine off and give up on this company. Feel like I wasted my money supporting a dud company. I wish fanstoys would move to beast wars figures so I can finally have some new Mp beast wars figures  

 

It's still a good figure, and I'm sure someone will make a Optimal of a similar size, lets see if the Oversized perfect effect one happens for instance.
I find If I sell something I tend to regret it later.

Why would you sell the toy you love just because the company that made such toy are not producing more toys?

Give them time... They will most likely release TigerHawk, but stylized.

It’s cool if that’s what other people want but I want a show accurate tigerhawk. I’m not a scale snob so idc about the size of the figure, but stylized is not for me. Plus I do feel like the company should of just released the figure by now as it’s plenty of time at this point. So I’m thinking I’ll just go with transart optimal optimus and wait for their tm2 megatron as I’m sure they’ll make one. The jx one doesn’t really fit well with the transart figures in my opinion.

 

I wouldn't be so sure if I were you, TransArt teased a TM2 Megatron a long time ago, but no product has come out.

You might be waiting quite a while for something that's no guarantee, given how stacked their plate is currently, with designs for TM Megatron, TM Rattrap, and Depth Charge having been shown. There's also still plenty of other TM and TM2 designs for them to tackle before stepping on JX's toes.

 

yea that could be, but jx is mostly likely a dead company. They got spooked by hasbro which yea who wants to be prosecuted for copyright infringement, but come on, even a stylizes version of tigerhawk would still be ripping off hasbro a intellectual property. So they could still be sued or prosecuted. Just the mere fact of them producing any character owned by hasbro could get them in trouble. So they should either man up or give up at this point. Fanstoys has no problem releasing a new sound wave under another name. So jx couldn’t do the same? I seriously think they just ran out of money and are no longer operating. So their winged dragon is a 1 and done figure and does not fit well with the transart figures in my opinion. I have more faith in transart getting more characters made than jx at this point.

@jru42287 yeah I'm not really sure, I thought JianXing is a department of another company...who happens to also have Cang, etc etc yada yada  

 

CangToys = Jiang Xing, so I doubt they have run out of money... But just like with their Predacons, they will opt to go stylized.

I thought TFC, JX, and Cang were produced in the same factory? Idk about being the same company or w/e

I'm obviously not the first to notice - but the packaging on Cang and JX is very similar.

Also... TFS-EXPRESS lists Cang and JX as the same company

Why would you sell Winged Dragon? Who cares if the company isn't around anymore, WD is fucking awesome.

It's only a shame that Tigerhawk never happened but I still have this guy in his own shelf front and center in my display.

 

Mine sits with my Takara Beast Wars MP’s & is the centerpiece of that entire collection . His presence to this day still outshines any of Takaras offerings. IMO , there’s not a better MP TM 2 version of him out there .

Even if the company is dead, it doesn't somehow invalidate the quality of Winged Dragon. Who cares about supporting a company or not if the product is good and you like it.

It's like saying you'll sell your Robot Paradise Acoustic Wave because Robot Paradise won't make another figure.

 

maybe but why not just get transart then to go with their optimal optimus.
