I have created a fan mode of Soundwave's iconic tape deck based off the Studio Series Bumblebee Movie Soundwave figure and even though the back of it ain't good I mainly wanted it to look good from the front and have the opening feature still be available to use for Ravage so here are some pictures if you wanna transform him

 

Mod to remove alt mode cab:
Heavy/Scratch: - Various mods (of mods), custom stuff

Allows WFC Ravage and Rumble mold cassettes to fit without losing shoulder cannon functionality.


Transform Ravage into animal mode, fold in legs and head, and then door will close.


Transform Rumble mold figure into bot mode, fold legs over backwards, and then tilt hands in a little bit. He should barely be able to fit without scraping paint from the shoulders.


Considering how bad alt mode is, losing the cab is not necessarily a bad thing until SS cassettes come out.

 

It's this reason in particular that I really like this figure. That's my favorite Laserbeak design, so this just suits it so perfectly

I don't get the dislike for this. Okay the altmode is phoned in but the bot mode is on point.

This looks so cool and as he will be my last ever soundwave it's a nice figure to go out on.

 

He has a freakishly large head. I know it's movie accurate but still. I don't mind the stupid alt mode than the gigantic head. I'm not getting his just because of this LOL.

Looking forward to getting this guy. However, shoulder flaps becoming untabbed if you move them forward is unacceptable.

 

This is one of the best mainline figures I’ve got in a long time. Bot mode is gorgeous and tidy as hell, joints are all tight and useful, colors and paint pop, everything stays tabbed together really well, transformation is fun, alt mode is cool and interesting to me. Just super happy with this thing all around. Can’t wait to get Ravage for him. In the meantime some of my smaller cassettes are using his chest chamber as an apartment.

My impatience has gotten the better of me and ordered one from ebay ($48 shipped for those curious).

The robot mode looks as great in-hand as pictures made it out to be, nothing more I could say that hasn't been say already.

The official alt mode (I'll admit) looks a tad better in-hand, but still think it looks bad. Personally, I've tranform Soundwave with the faux chest flipped down as it is for robot; and attach the shoulder cannon on top so it looks like a hover tank instead of whatever the hell its suppose to be.

I’m surprised at how much better the vehicle mode looks with the chest window flipped down. It looks more like a ship instead of a flying hunk of metal.

Got him in the mail today and decided to give my thoughts.


His Robot mode looks fantastic, like he stepped off the big screen, his head is a bit big but I think that's how it was in the movie.



His Alt mode, honestly I dont mind it at all. If we go by the concept art, I can make a spacecraft out of it. We got the windscreen chest, the rear could be the boosters, and the front could be the hood. I'd say you just got to use your imagination with this.

Overall I do like soundwave, it makes me more excited of the other BB movie bots coming. Looking forward to getting his partner ravage.

 

Added a few missing paint apps to the head including repainting the visor.
