Well, supposedly TC was delivered this evening. Unfortunately I found out Ontrac was delivering my package, which ultimately means it's now lost! What a good way to end the day...:(

I've had Ontrac deliver the next day after tracking shows they've made a delivery, good luck.

My Skywarp came in today and, wow, I really like this set. Especially Thundercracker, he just really stands out. Now that I have all three Starscream is my least favorite which is surprising.

Dang, I paid for mine earlier and it shipped a day earlier and mine still shows at airport to abroad! I'm in Arizona so they would be shipped the same way so I dont get how the earlier one gets left behind while a later one is already fully delivered! Annoying but no big deal!

Well, I received my TC yesterday, and he looked flawless. Today, he doesn't. I don't know how much scuffing was there already, or was caused by my handling of the figure. No transformation. Perhaps I am only now seeing scuffs because of the glasses I use to paint miniatures and models. Fact is, they are there.

I have good news and bad news. As a modeler, I can tell you he is painted nearly 100%. The entire blue of the figure is paint, and it is scuffs way too easily. The good news is I can tell that now before handling him any more.

I would recommend anyone brave enough or skilled with spray paint to coat him in a light dusting of either matte coat or semi-matte. From an airbrush would be best, but model master makes some good clear coat sprays. I dont recommend Krylon or the like. The spray is too heavy. You want a light coat. He needs to be protected and clearly has no surface clear coat to protect the paint, which makes no sense. If a manufacturer is going to paint a figure this much, they should seal it. It really sucks that it isn't.

Spray him at your own discretion. And I caution you not to do it if you're concerned about screwing up your figure or inexperieced with painting. Just offering advice to anyone wanting to actually handle him. If you plan to static pose him and never move him around, you should be fine.

**If you spray him, tape off anything you dont want sprayed, like the canopy. You spray matte on that and it will look like shit.

When Starscream came out, people noticed the paint wasn't fully cured out of the box, and leaving him untouched for a few days outside the box improved the paint's durability a lot.
Thundercracker with all the spruemarks seems even more rushed, so when he felt sort of chalky I did the same: let it cure for a few days until the paint felt more solid. Can recommend this to everyone else, provided you can muster the patience :D

They look great together... Also place his right hand on his hip and that's the exact same pose I have Starscream in. ;-)

Yeah, I heard that too about the paint needing to cure after a few days. I never noticed the chalky feel on Crimson Wings but definitely did on TC. Both feel fine, now. And this is a bit of customization but painting Crimson Wing's face a darker color and also TC's head more black instead of gray improves them both significantly.

Painting the head black goes a long way.

To add insult to injury, just taking him out of the box the paint is literally falling right off! Ooof!:(

Yeah it was pretty much toast, the figure box had a nice hole too, so I'm sure some moisture got in there. Just from glancing it over, I cant find a single panel on this guy the paint isn't all F'ed up. I guess I drew the short stick on this one! Now I'm just really bummed out...

I'm glad I'm broke from buying a copy of Dynastron this month because I was super close to getting TC before the offer was made. I have Def SS with Skywarp on the way so I'm pretty much locked into getting TC at some point. I just hope the next batch has these issues sorted out better.

Agreed. We may not know what we're talking about and this may be the equivalent of throwing salt over our shoulders but there's no harm in giving it a few days so I think it's worth it.

My Starscream didn't feel chalky. Just felt kinda soft. After a couple of days, that was gone. Might've been in my head because we'd been talking about it in the thread or it might've legitimately needed to outgas some more and couldn't while I'm the box. Either way, he seems fine now.

Return it. ShowZ will probably have you forward it on to some other buyer who accepts it as is for a discount but they should replace it. If not, open a PayPal dispute.

My starscream felt chalky it doesn't any more and thundercracker was worse but the paint is more matt than starscream as starscreams blue area have a a slight sheen, thundercracker is very flat except the underside of his feet the part that flips out for transformation
