Shoulder pads are fake which is confirmed by TA since last year. If they gonna use the real head for alt mode like the og toy, the shoulder pad will be too big

Question though. This company is making the transmetals at MP scale, so why then did they make OpOp under scale?

Yeah, the fake shoulders was already mentioned early on, even though I couldn't care less if they were "too big" if left real. Personally I always thought the ones in the show were too small.

What I'm curious about is how the real ones store in bot mode, and whether they could still fold over his shoulders anyway. But if they went the direction of faking them, I'm positive they took all the liberties they wanted in where the rat head would store.

Might just pop the shoulder pieces off, replace with something more generic (Hey, I'm not 'slavish' to show details, I'll do what I want), or I just won't get him.

I think their Op Op is just meant to be a one-off updated version of the OG figure. Maybe the designers really loved their Op Op figure as a kid but it succumbed to GPS one day and they wanted a replacement. Who can say.

I know he's meant to be MP-scale, but 5.9" is tall Deluxe Class territory, so he could technically work in a CHUG collection. I'll be getting him, regardless, because I've been waiting for a properly transformable Transmetal Rattrap since 1998.

 

Tempting to get a second one to sit MP Dinobot on in vehicle mode. I wonder if that's what the little piece in the second photo is supposed to assist with?
