I really like this guy and I didn't even have the nerve to sticker him up. I may lose my sanity trying to guess what this 3rd mask is from.

Yeah, I've been trying on and off to figure it out. Hopefully they'll come back after the contest ends and lets everybody know.

I even keep the head on my desk to remind me to look.

 

I've spend 4 hours in the last two days exercising furious Google-Fu. Can't figure the fucker out. I've been through wiki lists of Christmas specials and movies, and gigs of image-search results. Nothing close. I'm going to start walking around town with that mask and asking random strangers if they recognize him.

 

At this point I'm willing to say it definitely isn't from an English speaking country, and I'm wondering if it is specifically something from China. Maybe China's equivilent to Google would be a good place to look. I'm just assuming they have such a thing considering how often the Chinese Gov't blocks Google for some random anti-communist video or article.

 

I'm really liking Ono though.

 

I asked my Mom if she recognized it. Was silently hoping it was an older cartoon, but nope she had no idea what it was from.

I thought of it not being a US cartoon/tv show. Maybe it was an European show? Then I was wondering if there was something from Canada that was relatively famous. The only thing I haven't tried yet is commercials...

All I do know is that there are a lot of cartoon santas out there and Google has no idea how to differentiate between them all.  

Yeah, I love Ono. The name is hilarious since that loosely means tasty/good in Hawaiian. Plus he's now going to be a regular for my Christmas display every year.

Edit: I forgot to add that I love that first photo of the three faces. Talk about nightmare fuel there.

 

While I could be wrong, I've basically eliminated the US, Canada, UK, Australia, and New Zealand. We have more than enough members on this board from all those countries in a rather wide range of ages that I would expect it would some recognition unless it was beyond silly levels of obscure. I also know of several members from other countries, but they are definitely far fewer than English speaking countries since this is an English site.

Do we know what country Keith grew up in? While thinking on this I've realized I have an assumption on that, but no actual knowledge. I could see him potentially picking something from there specifically.

 

I have no idea where Keith came from nor their age. That would be a good way to narrow the search as well. I was thinking that the main supporters selling the figure had a voice on which heads to choose from, but that is a silly assumption.

 

I think the only safe assumptions are that A) it's probably a version of Santa Claus, and B) nobody on here should be trusted - it's in our interests to misdirect each other, after all  

 

Yeah I dig this guy! Not sure how I feel about stickers on an MP though. I like him just the way he is.

 

Ok so i've been reading some of these posts with everyone trying to figure out who the third Santa is... and i have to ask -
What makes anyone think that Keith had a hand in choosing *any* of the Santa heads?
This wasn't Keith's idea. Keith made the product -absolutely, but this was done at the behest of the people who paid for the figure to be made. Even the artwork of the box - it's not even remotely like any of X-Transbots other boxes.

So with that info - you can at least exclude the Santa coming from China.

 

@pandastrong You going to tell us the show/movie he is from after the contest ends? Looks like you'll probably be the only one or at least part of the few who knew the correct answer.

 

For me it was just reaching trying to think of something due to a complete lack of any leads anywhere else that I can come up with. I'm aware of the stores involved, but as I said above my feeling is that if it was something from the US or Canada there would be more people at least aware of it on here. I guess they could simply all be silent, but that doesn't sound like people on the internet to me.
