I'm with you. Except for Eagley and Harcourt, the show is like a Simpsons show, trying to be satirical. Peacemaker after 3 episodes is a fucking dud, dude is not good at hand to hand and can't execute a simple task to kill aliens, and Judomaster was able to take out 3 supposedly badasses? Was Judomaster the master of Judo or hand to hand in the DC comics? It's a shame Peacemaker got to take out Rick Flag.
Ya Judomaster is usually a martial arts master who just specializes in Judo. What I don't get is why does he look like a mix between TDK from the Suicide Squad and Karnak from Marvel. Thing is Peacemaker is a bit of patriotic sociopath who wants actual peace. He does what he does because he is told it will create peace. Such as killing Flag because if word got out, he was talked into believing mass hysteria or the like would happen. Here we have a white, American family of politicians who he is told to shoot to create peace. However he isn't told how or why it will create peace or why he has to shoot a family that looks harmless to him. The other thing is he did not have his properly inscribed weapon to use to trick himself into taking the shot for peace. It didn't have the blessing of the dove of peace so he started to question himself, even further when he got outed saying he would kill any man, woman or child if it meant peace. He literally got caught in a mental corner of ideal and truth. Then he underestimated Judomaster due to his size cause he also has a big ego.
No Judo master was the master of Judo or hand to hand in charlton comics who's characters DC later bought when charlton comics went out of business in the early 80's. Peacemaker was also a Charlton character. Judo master also wasn't that short in the comics and his costume wasn't green. The Watchmen were based off the characters. Alan Morrre originally wanted to use the above characters in the story but DC said no, so he made watchmen which is basically the same characters with similar powers nd origins but wth new costumes and made darker. Peacemaker has always taken things to far in the comics and often ends up being considered a villain by the heroes. Think of him like the punisher on a global scale. The reason they keep making rocket pack jokes is he often uses one in the comics. Gunn is basically deconstructing the character and making fun of him, but at least the plot is written decently and there are funny scenes.
The show is okay. I’m a fan of James Gunn too. Vigilante is definitely the best character. He steals every scene he is in. Of the recent DC shows Harley Quinn and Doom Patrol is way better.
I didn't have any expectations for this show or was really excited for it (was always still gonna watch it just not in a hurry). But I finished the first 3 episodes and as expected it was way better than the trailer and I loved it. I know Vigliante for what I've heard isn't the same as the one in the comics but I really loved him didn't really feel like an exact Deadpool KO. Also, that intro is the best thing ever created.
2 episodes in, still hasn't shown up. And that weird dance intro with nobody in the middle. How the hell does that kid just float there?!
this show is stupid. it's too james gunn. too many wacky weird characters where everyone is wacky and weird. too many garbage segments that last too long trying to be funny like the louis ck bit. it's just too ridiculous. i wish it was more grounded in reality where everyone wasn't dialed to 11 acting in no way like regular people do. this is why i didn't like the suicide squad. i thought cena was funny and is good comedically but this shit is way too ridiculous for me. at least the harley quinn show exists in a weird world where it works but this isn't in a world like that. there's elements there that aren't bad but this is just being dumb and weird because it's james gunn.
I recommend checking out Gunn's The Suicide Squad then. Its on the same level as fun as Peacemaker, if not a tad more grounded.
I am liking thus far more than Suicide Squad, which just bordered on nonsense. Yes, the opening weird dance and song number is stupid, but the show so far is interesting. I like the changes made - clearly, given that this is set in present day, Christopher Smith's dad could not have been nazi war criminal like in the comics. So they cleverly merged him with another DC character, the infamous White Dragon (Daniel William Ducannon (New Earth) | DC Database | Fandom) who is a known racist and KKK member, used to pose as a vigilante to spread his white supremacist rhethoric. Seems here, he also built the equipment Peacemaker uses, though he openly despises his son. The "butterflies" are, I dunno what yet, as in whether they are real creatures from the comics or made up for the show. Their size and the way they pose as humans does make me think of the Kroloteans from Young Justice. I don't get it. I have seen people make these jokes, is this some wrestling insider joke? People are still watching Angry Joe? I thought after it became known he takes money for doing positive reviews of games, his reputation would plummet. That's kind of the point. He is a colossal idiot, who might have some skills but hasn't got the brains to actually be someone like Punisher, IE plan ahead and kill bad guys. He has good intentions and would be an OK guy if he wasn't raised by such a hateful, racist father, whom he is still trying to desperately impress. Vigilante on the other hand, is just a pure psychopath. And as for the others, except for her daughter who is there to watch them, these Argus agents all took part in that rebellion against Waller in the Suicide Squad movie, so this is her form of punishment, assigning them to this case. Eagly is, I agree, amazing. CGI has come a long way as he looks rather realistic.
I haven't watched him in years but his non-game reviews sucked (saying SS and JL were good, and saying BB was bad). But maybe his never review are like that.
Only saw the first ep and have mixed feelings. I like some parts, and dislike others. PM is like a cartoon character in this, instead of someone who is suppose to be badass with all weapons. Halfcourt and whoever Agee plays are awful. That's what happens when you put your girlfriend and best friend in something you make. Though true to form, music was good, so at least that's consistent. I'll catch a few more eps before deciding on calling it quits or not.

Man, the out of nowhere nudity Spoiler there is a straight-up pussy photo in one scene, and they spend a lot of time discussing it is kinda jarring. So far there was nudity in every episode, as well as gore. I don't get why they changed Judomaster so much. There have been 4 Judomasters in the comics, one was a woman, one was a gay man - none of them were asian, or so short. And his outfit is a completely different color too. I at first assumed he would a Kobra trooper. Adrian/Vigilante is really a demented maniac in this, I don't think he was kidding when he said he killed people for spreading graffity or smoking pot. I had to read up on him too, as I was only familiar with the cowboy Vigilante from JLU before (I know this version was on Arrow, but luckily I quit that show before that happened). I gotta say, the constant and often really out of place songs are also taking me out of the show. They are so loud sometimes you can barely hear what the characters are saying. We get it Gunn, you love showing off your knowledge of obscure songs. But these are now getting really obscure - even I knew ELO and most of the songs in Guardians of the Galaxy - and take up too much time, like in episode 2 where Peacemaker went on and on about Cinderalla (the band). Weird catchphrase. I could at least understand Hulk Hogan's catchphrase and what it means. But then again, wrestling as a phenomenon is something neither me no most people I know here in my country just ever understood. I saw them on Eurosport back in the 80ies and like the monster truck racing, it was like watching some weird alien sport broadcast from outer space. Well, that was one thing I did agree with him with - I too liked the first Suicide Squad more than this new one (and did my brother). By BB you mean Batman Begins? Dunno how he could think that was bad, though... But frankly his "always angry" schtick and his sketches with Corporate Commander and Other Joe (who seems to really want to be as naked as he can on camera) were cringy. Ah, so those actors are his friends/girlfriend? Really? Yeah, Harcourt is like a wooden plank, and so far she has shown no signs of having a personality. Economos is a weird one, it's like they are trying to avoid the hacker nerd stereotype cliches with him, but as a result he just comes off as boring. I hope we have some post-credit scene of Jason Momoa showing up and decking Peacemaker for spreading such rumors.
