I’m undecided about how I’d want a hypothetical Transformers vs. Avatar release to perform. On one hand I kinda hope Paramount shits the bed again and ROTB gets totally demolished, so the license gets taken away by Hasbro; but also I think it would be hilarious if after waiting ten years Avatar 2 just makes absolutely no money.

A bit unrelated, but do you know how that might affect other 2023 Studio Series releases if the RotB line indeed does shift further back?

They won't have even started design on ROTB SS yet, not till they know they'll be getting the final ILM files, so they can always choose to do different characters if the ROTB chracters need to be delayed. 2023 is only an estimate anyway, just going by what we know about 2022 releases, so it was just assumed that they'd be done in 2023 at the earliest and it doesn't necessarily mean that they're planning on full waves of ROTB chracters.

Pretty much, and also a repeat of any 2020 film that had toys come out when the film was delayed BW especially. Or apparently, Gi Joe Retaliations have that happen where the toys came out and the movie was delayed by months.
I definitely don't want the first half to happen because I love TF's and I want good films and more of them. Even if they're from Paramount.
Avatar 2 I think is gonna bomb or not do great with how long ago the first one came out. Also I gotta say can you believe were getting 4 sequels to Avatar? Sequels that kept getting delayed for a movie really no one cares about anymore. So the reason I don't want Avatar vs ROTB is I don't wanna risk Avatar betting ROTB.
Something similar to that just with more VW parts basically something similar to this. Probably without the shoulder cannon. knight_omnimus_244790282_274060467911001_7571760530320064959_n.jpg
I think they'll have mostly a wave of ROTB stuff like Prime, Bee, Scourge, Primal and more just not all them and later on we will get the others just spread out and not all in 1 wave.

I believe someone mentioned a while back that SS is likely to be unaffected, and will now just coincide with the film’s release. This is more likely if the film is just being shelved until release.

I can see the first wave SS wave being entirely ROTB though to get out the more prominent characters, with the rest being released in subsequent waves along with other Bay/Knight designs.

Basically yes, since ROTB SS figures would have been released and come out in 2023
I think so as well wave 1 mainly having those big name prominent characters like Bee, Prime, Scourge, Primal, Cheetor, etc. and then later on in waves with other movie characters. IDK if we will get other Knight designs since all that's left is a proper Shockwave but I'm down for non-movie knight designs. Give me a Jazz, Sideswipe, a Megatron or even non-movie repaints like Outback, Blaster, Perceptor, Soundblaster, etc.

I wish we got to see the robot modes soon. Somewhere from a youtube video I head someone saw the pictures. I can't remember what they said, I can only remember them saying Nightbird has a Sword.

We will definitely if indeed the toys come out this year/April (which it sounds like they will). And I think I know what your talking about the one from Transformers Brasil of Nightbird, and the Maximals (minus Cheetor) based on the concept art.

It'll be a bad move if ROTB toys get released early. There are multiple examples of this happening and pretty sure Hasbro knows the consequences.

But Hasbro is up to something. From what I can understand, at least some toys from the gimmick line is being prepared for a release. When? Don't know. Could be just a precaution, could be an early release.

But we are way too far away from the movie release, even for a preview Wave like ROTF.

There's no sign of the movie being brought forward.. Not yet anyway.

Toy Fair UK is still happening and we all know that UKTF is like the preview for NYTF; although things happen behind the scenes. But that hasn't stopped things from leaking. Guess we'll find out next month.

It'll be interesting to see at the least when we see them.
Just curious I know you said gimmick toys but have you heard if the deluxe figures might be prepared for release? Or they're gonna hold them back and just the gimmick line will be prepared.

For what it's worth, Brazilian fans that spoke with Hasbro brazil reps had Hasbro saying the toyline would still be coming this year, but that could just be 'outdated info' that Hasbro's big wigs haven't updated them on yet

I mean that somewhat lines up with what SilverOptimus said with the toyline (or at the least some of the toys in the line) is/are prepared to come out this year.

If toys from the gimmick line is released. Is it possible for them to rebrand those into a new line?

I can’t wait for this simple and straightforward statement to be misconstrued and debated for seventeen consecutive pages

Its possible they're going to release a gimmick mini-line as kind of a prototype test bed. We saw this way back with Hasbro experimenting with combiners, both with Powercore Combiners which ultimately were a failure due to the drone limbs being virtually useless and self-detatching (while in contrast, scouts were almost universally good if they were not Double Clutch and the Swiss Army mini-cons were neat, which CW had with the combiner voyager torsos and the secondary scout/legends figures becoming chest pieces or Targetmasters Powerglide and Shockwave) and FoC Bruticus being the direct predecessor to CW to explore the viability of releasing scramble city figures in the modern price size organization of the product lines.

Of which I would expect only the Autobots and some generic Decepticons from ROTB, none of the truly "new" characters. We might get looks at Arcee, Mirage, and Wheeljack, but I seriously doubt we'll be seeing any of the bad guys or Maximals for a filler line this time around.
