I'm confused at anyone decrying this new Perceptor as Hollow when TR Perceptor was MORE hollow.

You would have. General audiences would likely not have. Especially for Perceptor.

Eh, that might be pushing it a bit, it was a pretty flawed figure.

(Then again, so it was the TR toy. It seems like Perceptor has bad luck at getting good representations).

I don't know. While it lacked articulation, the G1 original did a pretty good job making a solid mold for him. Why they don't just take cues from the original figure and make the new one more solid and cover up that massive gap with a slider/wheel is beyond me.

I get that transformation is far more intricate than the original toy's, but sometimes simple works best. Just shrink down the G1 original, give it more articulation and a better head, and you're done. People would snap that up in a heartbeat.

I'm considering popping the head off of this version, cutting the head in half, and gluing his face on the Titan Master.

It's a good figure... Not a Great figure.
It might just be nostalgia on my part. at the time He wasn't the perceptor I wanted he was the perceptor I needed.

I would agree. Though I think his transformation is a hindrance to him. But that alt mode? Man... It's a crying shame no other Perceptor tried to revist that mode. It was pretty neat!
If he got a figure like ER Starscream or Kingdom Cyclonus it could probably fix every problem the old had!

It's a cool looking figure, but not a good one IMO. It was always one of my absolute least favorite figures to transform between the awful legs, the door panels, and the weird back/shoulder assembly that barely stays in position in robot mode.

Just getting him out of box. Really small box and the insert display has a giant hole. First impression are great. It's getting harder considering masterpiece scale figures when we're getting figures this good. He definitely a substantial deluxe.
