Or (I know I sound like a broken record or annoying but) ROTB's toys at least wave 1 come out in April.

They're going to release toys from a movie that's coming out more than a year from now?

If they have gone through the manufacturing process already maybe/yes. It cost more to hold onto and store things that have gone into or are in the manufacturing process already. If they haven't then definitely nope not at all

If that’s the case, then we might see a leak in the near future.

I’m DEFINITELY NOT counting on that considering SilverOptimus said that stores were asked to remove the listings.

Very possible, that's why I'm keeping low expectations of this happening or at the least expecting them not to happen so if they do I'm surprised.

But weren’t the toys going to be late for the movie’s original release date anyway?

Something's going on behind the scenes at Hasbro. They are preparing for ROTB toy releases. This is really unusual. They don't usually prepare this early for a movie that is 1.5 years away. I'll be able to get more info soon.

Interesting. I guess it may be a case if just having to or risk having less product on the shelves. Though it's not like it was back in 2007 when the movie line was essentially replacing the previous main lines of Cybertron and Classics: they have Generation and Studio Series ongoing as well Cyberverse still on the shelves (though we don't know when the next cartoon line will be out). I guess they might really drag out the planned waves to cover a longer period so that they're still on the shelves during the movie's release. I'm just scribbling down my thoughts rather than making any real predictions.

Still, it's exciting to think we might get our first look at the characters sooner than we thought.

Do they plan to move the film release forward? Maybe December 2022?

Unlikely. I haven’t been keeping up with the thread, but did they ever do more filming after the delay announcement? Or are they taking more time for post. Either way, I see them hellbent on advertising this film as a “summer blockbuster”. But could be wrong.

But as was mentioned above, some work has to have already started on the toyline, and it would have cost more to hold the toys for a year than to just release some now. And while it doesn’t make sense seeing as the movie is a year out, I can see them releasing at least the first wave of the line so there’s a gimmick line to keep new kids product out as Cyberverse is on its last legs, and there doesn’t seem to be an appropriate replacement ready anytime soon.

No major reshoots that we know of. Post won't be extended by a full year as that would increase the budget (they'd have to pay everyone for an extra 12 months' work). Chances are it'll just be shelved until the release date as it seems like it's just a knock-on effect of a lot of Pramount's and other studios' movies being delayed. It obviosuly gives them room to do odd tweaks in that time, but the people invovled will be omving on to other projects so it doesn't mean that there's going to be a significant amount of extra work done.

As for the toys. The design process usually starts around 12 months before release, or even earlier, so work had already begun last year. If we're talking about production, then perhaps they've just decided to go ahead anyway; the figures would normally be released around April for a June movie so I'm not sure when production would usually begin for that deadline. Perhaps they found that there wasn't a significant impact on salse of toys from movies that were delayed in 2020 so would rather relase them a year too early than have a year with a product gap. I doubt it'll be something we'll really get the answers to.

Awesome, also probably just a case of it was too late to stop them from being manufactured, and from what I have learned it costs more to hold onto and store that have gone or are going through manufacturing.
Maybe, I'd love it but I doubt it also I know it's been like 10 or less years since Avatar 1 but I don't wanna risk Avatar 2 destroying a TF film.
Thats what I'm thinking and expecting at least wave 1 that was already leaked - the gimmick toys and wave 1 of the deluxes so we can finally get our first look at - the Autobots, Maximals, and at least Scourge and Nightbird.
I'm thinking maybe even sooner like at Fan Fast or whatever Hasbro uses to replace NYTF since I know the listings were kind of took down but they were scheduled for April.

I think I mentioned this in another thread but before the whole release date change Hasbro was already gearing up to have their toyline this year so they can have proper SS releases for the movie in 2023. So they're caught in a tough spot where they just can't sit on molds like that because it's essentially wasted money for the company. So this is essentially a repeat of what happened with all the Black Widow and Eternals figures.
