Umm...yeah....14 pages in the MP-52 flaw tracking thread. That's a real exaggeration lol.

This is my feeling too with MP-52. Depending on how much you paid and your quality lottery, you could be really happy or really frustrated. I have a feeling the improvement in, and yet still some instances of, loose joints with Thundercracker and Skywarp are due to paint thickness rather than something that was deliberately changed at the factory to improve the joints. So, perhaps the pretty firm ankles of my Skywarp will become loose one day.

The best thing about Skywarp and Thundercracker was that they were cheaper than Starscream. When I saw cracks at the tailfins of my Screamer, I thought "OK, Thundercracker will be fine I hope." When I saw the crack around the tailfin of Thundercracker, I thought "OK, Skywarp will be fine I hope." When I saw the crack at the tailfin of my Skywarp I thought "This is BS. I'm glad I paid a low price." And in terms of cosmetic issues, my Thundercracker and Skywarp were a bit worse than my Screamer. Even the duplicate/missing faces issue still persisted in some copies of the second two.

Yes, it's an exaggeration. Fourteen pages doesn't say anything. How many people with issues in those fourteen pages? How serious are the issues? How many total copies sold? Without these numbers, you can't make absolute statements about the true amount of issues.

Say it's 100 people, that sounds like a lot, but if there are 100000 copies sold for example, then it's a very small percentage. And of those 100 hypothetical people, how many people have serious issues? The answer to that would lower the percentage even more.

No it's not an exaggeration. It's well known that MP-52 has QC issues. Stop sticking your head in the sand and trying to deny it.

True. Simply stating that the existence of a Flaw Tracking Thread and the size of it being any indication, is incorrect. Other things most be taken into account and the amount of figures sold and the number of complaints in comparison to this, is a major factor.

TFW is just one forum and not even the biggest: we're only a sample of a sample. However, despite not everybody who's an active member having bought MP-52 Starscream, the complaints are not few. Let's again say it's a 100 people who posted complaints here, but if only 200 TFW members bought the figure...then that's fifty percent...one in every two figures. That would be a high percentage of flaws and one that likely would not be limited to TFW.

Also, to what extend people consider the reported problems problematic is very personal, as shown by Emgo's review: his figure can only stand due to loose ankles by putting the legs in a specific pose, but he has no issue with this. Others would call this a flaw, he doesn't.

I do think two things are telling. One, the same topic about Thundercracker is much, much shorter and mostly mentions minor paint blemishes. This could be because people consider the flaws a given and thus not mention it, but more likely based on other posts TC (and SW) suffer far less. Two, quite a number of reviewers on YouTube, even those who like the figure, mention cracks developing and issues with the ankles and knees.

In the end, MP-52 is amazing design, very intricate, but perhaps just beyond what TT can do at this scale.

Right. Honestly, this was a good release IMHO.. I feel that some ppl go out of their way to find something wrong nowadays (like modern "movie critics"; bleh!). One person reports a broken peice, and then it's "seeee, told ya!". Doesn't matter if the issue isn't wide spread, or nothing worth mentioning, as long as it's something imperfect.

Not to say some problems don't exist. But, nothing's perfect.

Well it is.WE outnumber those that, if you pay attention, only come to these boards to post negatively then disappear. That small handful is just,as with all things in life, louder than everyone else. Especially loud to those that come to these boards to be negative. I mean 14 pages out of 640? That’s the textbook definition of exaggeration lol.

I've thought about designing a set but I could never sell enough to recoup my design / concept testing costs. Especially because there is already an official set available.

Going to be selling these two shortly... A shame as they're awesome figures.

You can replace the spring, pardon whoever originally mentioned fixing theirs, but he took the knee apart and replaced it with a stronger spring.

Would anyone in Japan be willing to ship out a coronation set to me if I send you the proof of purchase for my seekers (and pay for shipping and everything of course)? I really want that set for screamer. Thanks in advance to anyone willing to help out!
