Magten I think has the best metallic silver look and the red thighs so it can make for a nice toy look.

 

i only saw a crystal-clear dynastron myself, but i didn't search for anything beyond "dynastron".

 

My bad, you're right! I went back to check what I saw when searching and some sellers are using the original pic but only have the clear option to buy.

There are plenty of KOs though, starting around the same price

 

The crystal version probably has even more breakage issues than IT01 does sadly.

 

So when I got my IT-01 it had a scratch vertically on the chest plate that I was able to cover with the sticker but it was much bigger than I wanted and there were some speckled chips to the side and above the 3 little vertical vents on the right side (left in the pic). I got some toon logos and wanted to change the decal but that scratch would be very visible going to the size I want so I decided to sand down the plate til the scratch and chips were gone, then buffed with a very fine grit to get rid of sanding scratches so I could clear coat it. I shot a few coats of matte clear, let dry to the touch, applied the decepticon logo, and continued coating. I think it turned out pretty good but now it has a heavy look of being a painted bot just on the chest plate! I know there's paint/clear elsewhere within IT-01 but some panels its noticeable others not so much but doesn't look bad. Now that I've given him that painted look, I'm afraid I might end up pulling him apart to do more.

 

Welp after being assured that my replacement parts were about to be shipped out last week I got this message today...

Screwed again... God I'm so tired of dealing with this crap.  
I had had my order placed over a year in advance and was one of the first to receive a copy from this batch, with the breakage and my subsequent replacement part request coming only a couple days afterwards. Just how many other people received their order and had their figures break and file for parts before that?

May I ask when you filed for replacement hip skirt with ShowZ? Just curious. I filed mine on November 16th.

 

Ugh that sucks, sorry to hear that. I first contacted them on 21st Nov when I first saw the issue. Also had a separate a problem with a cracked shoulder piece don't know if helped my case, but yeah that must be pretty frustrating. :-(

I suspect the problem now is we are heading into Chinese New Year on Feb 1st - thats going to snarl up work patterns for another few weeks at least. Maybe they shut down between Xmas and CNY bc so much of their business must be seasonal (holiday buying)?

 

Your parts request came in 5 days after mine then. So ShowZ lied. If they simply ran out of parts before my spot in the queue came up that might be disappointing, but understandable. But if that was not the case and that is merely what was claimed to cover their asses after shipping parts out of order, it leaves a pretty nasty taste in my mouth. In any case I am glad to know the truth of it one way or the other and am thankful for your response!

 

I've come to realize, as good as some of these stores are they dont really take care of the details too well and spit out answers that dont make sense. I dont have any parts broken with mine that bug me so it's easier to just let it ride, but I knew when contacting them for the energon mace breaking from being glued and the intermittent speaker in the cannon, I'd just have wait to point I probably forget about it and then it will show up. ShowZ incorporates shipping into their prices so it's no big deal with them but at other stores, the lame B.S. answers they give for why suddenly shipping is $90 on one and $20 on another figure when they have just about the same size box is ridiculous. Two other stores have been stringing me along for parts missing from brand new sealed products and one was directly the stores fault for opening the packaging and misplacing the accessories. Its unfortunate but I think the mindset has to be, if they agree to work for you to fix the issue no matter how long it takes, you've got it covered and if it happens to go quick then even better. They definitely dont work hard or fast to send something for free even though it's their customer service policy.

 

Guess I joined the IT-01 Cool-kids-club. He has just been sitting in his box since I put in the request for a replacement for the missing face. Never had legs posed, been transformed, or even had the hip panels touched. Hopefully SZ can eventually get me a replacement.

Its easy for me to be philosophical when I dont have a dog in the fight and I know waiting sucks but see it as an opportunity, my process is usually a curt but polite notice of my displeasure which puts them (anyone this is, not done with ShowZ) on the back foot then offer a solution which usually is an additional discount on another item. Its all a dance but you have some cards to play, you can always ask for a refund.

I hate applying faction symbols. They always seem a bit crooked or off center unless I lift it up and reseat it a bunch of times, at which point it doesn't look as crisp.

 

That's one reason waterslides are nice. You can move them around for a decent bit of time until you're satisfied with the placement.
