Any chance of BBB getting any more pre-orders in, or that's it?

I see "more" available for various figures from time to time, but I don't know if it is an actual increase in how many or because people have cancelled.

Well the line of red is painted, even if it’s not a big red platform under his boobs.

showz and the rest who put up pre-orders years in advance always have figures in stock once they release. It's like they sell out a small pre-order guestimate and then they have plenty upon release.

It started out with someone simply wishing FT had done Datsuns instead of Jazz and Mirage saying they needed updates more, someone asked why, and several responses came from there.

As you're a Porsche guy, I'm genuinely curious why you consider Jive doesn't look very close to a real 935 (horrible toon wheels aside), while downbeat does? To me they rank very closely and both are a very good recreation of the 935...

    935.jpg

Only big things are Jive's horrible wheels, with Downbeat countering with the offensive rear end kibble. So roughly tied there. I could then run off a list of small details with about half going to Jive and half going to Downbeat, but we're talking small things like how much the front bumper sticks out, the shape of the rear side window (always bugged me how Downbeats comes to a sharp point as it's so noticeable a part of the car's lines), rear lights, the rear wing proportion, front bumper grill, etc.

the back of downbeat looks like a weird monster and my only complaint with jive is the red line seems too thin

I don't even know what you guys are talking about with the wheels. They all just look like regular car wheels to me.

It's the thickness of the rear tires. The real car has very thick racing tires.

Just looking at the pictures and not being a big Porsche guy, I do like the look of the Maketoys alt mode better when looking at the front 3/4 view. The bumper protrusion is actually less accurate than on the Fanstoys but I think proportionally it looks better. Also, the rear wheel flair has a better shape than Fanstoy’s wider, flatter design. The big one is the red splitter. It is just hands down better on the Maketoys alt mode. Still, I feel like Fanstoys made the right call with the thin painted strip. The larger splitter looks off in bot mode.

Looks close enough for my tastes. If I wanted a model car, I’d buy one. I buy Transformers for the robot modes. Other than Dinobots and Unicron, I don’t have any transformers displayed in their altmodes. Imho all the transformation panels and seams in altmodes just look ugly. It was easy as a 6 year old to “imagine those away,” but on a detolf display they stick out like sore thumbs. Robot mode just looks far more dynamic.

I’m not saying you can’t be a car guy and collect transformers, I’m just saying all transformers other than Alternators take heavy liberties with the altmodes to suit the robot mode, so you gotta go with the punches.

The wheels and non-accurate stripes are the bigger issues. I want it to look like an actual Martini Rossi 935 with the accurate livery.

Also, people keep posting Downbeat 1.0 for picture comparisons, when they should be using 2.0.
