A hungarian webshop is now selling Hot Rod as low as 17$ or so - maybe the new one should cost this much.
Btw is that a digibash? I would find it strange that they have photos of a toy from next year and TFW2005 has not frontpaged it yet.

Also, if that's real, AND they aren't including an insert behind the insert - that background is getting a big hole chopped in it.

Edit: Plus tie-down holes. But it does look like the same scene is in the background, through the hole.

 

i think some of the pics for the next set of BB Movie SS guys with this new packaging has shown that they still have the unsullied full backdrop behind, there's just also this smaller one with the same pattern, with the holes for the ties in it to replace the plastic

 

While it's possible, I don't really know if a modified box would end up with a new UPC. Either way, you gotta figure that a redeco of Hot Rod is coming eventually one way or another.

You can see on the Buzzworthy SS Kup/Cliff that there's a regular backdrop behind it. The cardboard with holes basically replaces the plastic tray and the rest is unmodified in behind.

There has been a review or 2 on the repack. It's exactly the same figure new box. Insert is intact and the QC is BAD with a capital B. I expect to see the Repacks show up at discount stores in mass by summer 22.

Yeah. I'm passing on Optimus as I already have the TR one, but RID Scourge would be both a new character on the shelf and a chance to check out this mold.

 

Not even gonna lie, if I see Walmart exclusive RID Scourge on shelves in person I'll probably go "heh, walm scurg" and have no choice but to buy it on the spot
